Selecting the right students
Recruitment:
Relevance
• Teachers have a direct impact on
the students they are educating
• Ensure your EP candidate has the
right skills, attitude and behavior
for the job
• Ensure this EP is passionate about
teaching and understands the
value of the teaching internship
program.
Elements of right EP selection
1. Expectation setting about the
nature of the work and the JD
2. Communication ability, this
includes language skills
3. Teaching ability, presentation
skills, facilitation skills
4. Contains elements of
coaching and mentoring
5. Other people skills like
emotional intelligence,
interpersonal skills, are also
more important for a teaching
internship than other GIP
sub-products.

It is difficult to test these qualities with
just one meeting or interview with the
EP applicant. Hence, we suggest to use
multiple means to evaluate the
candidate.

Assessment Center
Objective: To observe the behavior of applicants by putting them in scenarios and simulations.
Group Activities:
Inductions/Learning Circles
Objective: To facilitate communication in
groups, talks, debates about key topics
related to teaching and education.
Testing
Objective: To assess the skills of an applicant. This can be language tests, personality tests, or tests to assess teaching ability.
Personal Interview
Objective: To have conversation with the EP and ask them key
questions to assess further, their readiness
for the GIP.
