Junior Tennis CampKids and grandkids will love to learn tennis and play in the pool! Under the direction of Matt Motil (USPTA certified), junior campers will receive tennis instruction from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. At 12:00 p.m., campers will be escorted to the Swim Club at Lake Disharoon for lunch and swimming until 2:00 p.m. Campers should bring their own lunch. This is a very active camp and junior campers should be age 7 and up. Children age 6 and under should participate in the Pee Wee Camp that runs from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Junior Camp is $250.00 weekly or $55.00 daily. Pee Wee Camp is $50.00 weekly or $15.00 daily. Swim ClubSwim Club 2019 Season Schedule: May 25 - July 28, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.Open weekends only in August and Labor Day weekend.Closed for the season beginning Tuesday, September 3 The Swim Club at Lake Disharoon is comprised of a free-form, saline system, zero-entry swimming pool, roped off swimming section in the Lake, as well as a 300-yard, sandy beachfront on Lake Disharoon. Features include beach volleyball, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, bathrooms with changing areas, certified lifeguards, access to hiking trails and the famous 200-foot rockslide. Who could forget the ever-popular inflatable water park for kids, designed to accommodate 60 youngsters at once!

Swim Club fees: $6.00 per person, per day for Property Owners/Timeshare and $10.00 per person, per day for non-Property Owners (excludes indoor pool). Children under two, free of charge. Weekly and seasonal rates are also available. A Big Canoe Property Owner’s card must be displayed.

Wildcat Pool Wildcat Pool 2019 Season Schedule: May 25 – September 2, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.Open weekends only in September, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Closed for the season beginning Monday, September 30The Wildcat Recreation Area consists of a 75-foot lap pool as well as a kiddie pool with zero-entry and water play features, covered pavilion with lights, fans and a fireplace, bathrooms with changing areas and showers, a children’s playground, three bocce courts, a basketball court and a soccer field. Food & Beverage Rules for the Outdoor PoolsSwim ClubAlcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought into the aquatic area of the Swim Club. Outside food is permitted to be brought in to the Swim Club amenity but not allowed on the beach.Wildcat PoolOutside food and beverages are allowed in the Wildcat Recreation area, but we ask that you please dispose of all food trash in the provided bear-proof trash receptacles.

Marina hours are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday - Sunday, April - October. Please call the Marina at (706) 268-3303 to make reservations for a pontoon, jon boat, canoe, paddle board or kayak, or to register for the following events. *All events are subject to change due to inclement weather.

Note that fishing permits are required and must be purchased at the Marina Shack. Daily, seasonal and weekly rates are available; children age 12 and younger do not require a permit.

Cigar ClubEvery other week, Big Canoe’s Cigar Club gathers at the Marina Shack to light up, sip their favorite of choice, and engage in banter on any and all subject matter. Join in on the fun and add your two cents’ worth to this amicable group of guys. 5th Annual Cajun Crawfish BoilSaturday, May 11, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Live music from Eddie Collis, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.Don’t miss the 5th Annual Cajun Crawfish Boil at the Marina at Lake Petit! Our very own Master Chef, Jeff Moreau, will be preparing an authentic Cajun crawfish boil feast. Adult plates are $20.00 and additional plates $10.00 each. After the meal, stick around for some great live music by Eddie Collis. Parking is limited at the Marina, so please carpool or take the shuttle from the Chapel parking lot. Ladies of the Lake One of the most popular events for ladies! Their captains, of course, are always bound by the oath, “What’s said on the lake stays on the lake.” Ladies usually bring snacks to share and their beverage of choice. There is a $10.00 charge for the sunset cruise, and they take place on the first & second Wednesdays of the month. Youth Fish CampIt’s time to register for Big Canoe annual fish camp! This year, anglers can choose from four different camp session which run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Fishing is from a pontoon boat with an experienced captain and first mate. There’s always a chance to jump in the lake before heading back to shore for lunch, which the kids bring from home due to dietary/allergy concerns. The cost of the three-day camp is $125.00 per child, and includes a new Zebco Rod and Reel, tackle kit, and expert fishing instruction. This ever-popular event fills quickly so make reservations by calling the Big Canoe Marina as far in advance as possible.

Acoustic Showcase and Acoustic Corner 1st and 4th Thursday of each month, 7:00 p.m., The Swim ClubThe Acoustic Showcase is a live performance on the first Thursday of each month at the SwimClub. The Acoustic Showcasehas 28 talented musicians that rotate each month with 10 musicians playing at each event. Musicians willplay from the center of the lineup and will perform two songs consecutively. Bring yourfavorite beverage, arrive early, secure your seats and mingle with other guests and musicians.Performances begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. for about 90 minutes.

The Acoustic Corner is an event that meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Swim Club at 7:00 p.m. A more casual format, Acoustic Corner is a mix of experience levels with a warm welcome to the less experienced to improve their play. In the past, Big Canoe groups have travelled to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, North Georgia Wineries, the Fox Theater, and attended concerts such as Billy Joel, Dobbie Brothers, Chicago and Mannheim Steamroller. 4th Annual Big Canoe Cardboard RegattaSaturday, August 3, 12:00 p.m.Canoe Lodge BeachCalling all creative, ingenious thinkers, builders and captains! Now is the time to start crafting your cardboard creation. Only cardboard, glue, tape and paint can be used to construct the boat. Google and YouTube have a wealth of helpful hints, tips and designs available. Gather old cardboard boxes or find a cardboard distributor that sells large sheets of cardboard, pick your boat’s theme, design the craft and then test it on the waters of Lake Sconti! While your boat design may be simple and sturdy, be creative and over-the-top with your theme. Official registration forms along with the rules and regulations are available on the Big Canoe POA website, www.BigCanoePOA.org. The event is open to all Big Canoe Property Owners and their guests. The cardboard boat must hold two to four crew members and race for 200 meters for the fastest time. Categories will be divided into youth, family, adults and seniors. The Programs & Events Committee is hosting a North Georgia Wine Tour and has a great day of fun planned. The luxury tour bus will leave the Wildcat Recreational Area parking lot at 9:45 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy the experience of touring three exceptional North Georgia wineries including a gourmet picnic lunch. You will visit the vineyards, learn how wines are made, tour the winery grounds and taste 16 different wines.

Live MusicAlmost every Friday night, live music reverberates from The Clubhouse Veranda or the Canoe Lodge over the ripples of Lake Sconti. Each Friday night is a little different, so there’s always something to keep everybody’s toes tapping. Add a scrumptious dinner and the weekend is off to a great start. Exercise 101 & 201 ClassesRecovering from an injury or a medical procedure? Been sedentary for so long that you can’t remember the last time you owned tennis shoes? These classes are specifically designed for those that are starting anew. Exercise 101 and Exercise 201 are free for current Wellness Center members. This class is designed for the sedentary individual or someone coming back to exercise after an injury. Utmost care and safety will be administered. Chairs are utilized for the majority of the class. Junior Golf CampRegistration is officially open for one of Big Canoe’s most popular summer camps for kids. Camp runs Tuesday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The final day of camp will be a parent/grandparent/child 9-hole tournament, with awards and lunch for all players to follow. This camp is great for all levels

of play from beginners to advanced, and lunch is provided each day for all campers. The cost per week is $250.00 per camper.
