Standby Mode

WhenFemisapiendoesnotreceiveanycommandsforapproximately5minutesshe

willenterStandbyMode.Shewillsigh,leanononefootandchangepositionevery

fewseconds.

TowakeherfromStandbyMode,dooneofthefollowing:• Toucheitherofherhands.• Waveyourhandinfrontofherface.• Gentlypressherheadinavertical,downwarddirection.

Sleep Mode

Afterapproximately5minutesinStandbyMode(approximatelytenminutesintotal),

orifFemisapienisleftlyingonherbackformorethan10seconds,shewillenter

SleepMode.

DuringSleepModetheLEDindicatorsonherwristswillpulseslowly.

TowakeherfromSleepMode,standherbackuprightifsheislyingdown,thengently

pressherheadinavertical,downwarddirection.

Automatic shutdown

Afterapproximately2hoursinSleepMode,Femisapienwillautomaticallyturnoff

completely.Toreactivateher,slidethepowerswitchlocatedonthebackofherneck

OFF,andthenONagain.

IMPORTANT:IfFemisapienentersautomaticshutdown,slidethepower

switchtoOFF.Thiswillpreventthebatteriesfromdepletingwhenyou

arenotplayingwithher.

Basic walking

Femisapiencanwalkforward,backward,orturnleftorrightonthespot.Shecanalso

detectobjectsatherneckheight.IfFemisapiendetectsanobstacleinfrontofher,

shewillstop.Iftheobstaclemovesawaywithinapproximately3seconds,Femisapien

willcontinuewalking.Iftheobjectremains,shewillstop,reverseandturnawayfrom

it.Afterapproximately2minutesofcontinuouswalkingFemisapienwillstopand

waitforfurthercommands.

Whenperformingpre-programmed“catwalks”,Femisapiendoesnotusehervision

andcannotdetectobstacles.WhenperformingslowwalksFemisapiencandetect

obstaclesatherneckheight.Ifshedetectsanobstacleshewillturnawayandthen

continuewalking.

NOTE:IfFemisapienfallsoverwhilewalking,setheruprightwithin10secondsand
