HOSANNA TO THESON OF DAVID

Dear friends:Today we enter into Holy Week, the greatest week of the year for us Christians. We honor Jesus as the Son of David, the King of Israel, but also the Lord of life. Today the same people that acclaimed him, as King will be crying out on Good Friday: “Crucify Him, crucify Him.” What a paradox! How can it be that the same people who acclaimed him so positively and joyfully now ask to crucify him because he has declared that he is the Son of God? Jesus spoke the truth and that truth was the reason why he went to the cross and died for us. ‘For this we adore you o Christ and we bless you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.’ The entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem is precisely our entrance into Holy Week. We en-ter into the Paschal Mystery that celebrates the death and resurrection of Christ. We enter into the week that brings to fulfillment the words and actions of Jesus during his public life. “Unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies; it re-mains a grain of wheat, but if it dies it produces much fruit.” These are the words of Jesus that enable us to understand this great mystery of his passion, death and resurrection. His dying was inevitable because that was the reason why he came into the world. He had to die in order that he would give us forgiveness for our sins and ev-erlasting life. His death is what caused victory to our lives although, we didn’t merit it but his great mercy and love for humanity gained for us this life that is the wealthiest and greatest gift we have received. We bow before his Holy Cross and we thank the Lord for his goodness and kindness; for not looking into our sinfulness but loving us with tenderness and compassion. Today we enter with Jesus triumphantly into Jerusalem, the Holy City to commemorate and celebrate the gift of our salvation through his death and resurrection. How blest we are that you and I have been chosen to walk with Jesus to Calvary in order to die to the old ways of life and rise with Him to a new and better life. Let us walk together as Church, as the par-ish of Saint Margaret and experience the re-demption that Jesus obtained for us by his own sacrifice on the cross where we who were lost and dead are now found and alive for God.

Our best way to accompany Jesus during this week of our redemption is by attending the different liturgical services we have here in our Church:

There are a lot of problems all throughout the whole world. People are suffering from hun-ger, from lack of work and the basic things of life. Also we have

a lot of people suffering from vio-lence and conflicts and this is a re-

ality that you all see on the news each day. These are some of the reasons why people migrate, they move to other parts of the world and they go to America. Because you are so blessed with many good things, people travel to come here looking for a better way of life. They must get a visa to come to your country but when they appear before the consulate authorities in their countries the visa of entry is denied. Because of hunger, violence and the lack of jobs, they cross the borders without permission and therefore they are there undocumented. Because you are Christians you need to be more understanding

since your ancestors also came from other lands and perhaps many of them also came undocu-mented and they stayed. You need to pray for a fair and just reform in your country. I saw the news how in California they are in great need a workers to work the fields. Because of the strict laws in your country they are loosing the prod-ucts and the loss will be financially immense. I am not there to answer some of your questions but please try to understand because they too are your brothers and sisters and they came to America not because they didn’t love their coun-try but because they had to leave due to the fact that some of those lives were in danger. I know that Jesus would like you to be compassionate and understanding of all those who are called undocumented and today they are living in much fear and uncertainty of having their fam-ilies broken up. Pray for them. Ciao, woof, woof.

THE GIFT OF THE ADORATION CHAPELAs we approach this celebration of the Paschal Mystery we want to invite you to join us in the adoration chapel for an hour of prayer once a week. We have a few spots that need to be at-tended to during the week but especially on the weekend. We should not leave the Blessed Sacra-ment alone but someone must be present there. The Chapel is open for visitors Monday thru Fri-day 9 am to 5 pm. To come to visit before or after those hours and on weekends, you need to regis-ter at the Parish Office in order be able to get in the chapel, to come and spend that time with Je-sus. Please take advantage of this great oppor-tunity to be in the presence of the Living Lord

PARKING IN OUR PARISHBecause our community continues to grow the parking lot sometimes becomes impossible. Peo-ple need to know that the parking lot is only for the use of the Church and therefore cars will be towed at your own expense. For this rea-son I want to remind everyone that no one can park in the FIRE LANES, these are the lanes painted in yellow. Our neighbor Daily Plan It opens their business on weekends and they ad-vised us that they will be calling the towing company if any of our cars are blocking their cars. Towing is $175 and it will be at your own expense. Please do not park by the Fire lanes or by the sidewalks next to the parking lot of the Church. Thanks you for your cooperation

HOSSANA AL HIJO DE DAVID

Por el Padre Hernán Queridos amigos: Hoy entramos a Semana santa, la Semana mayor para nosotros los cristianos. Honramos a Jesús, el Hijo de David, el Rey de Israel y además Señor de la vida. Hoy las mismas per-sonas que le aclaman como rey estarán gritan-do el Viernes santo “Crucifícalo, crucifícalo”. ¡Qué paradoja! ¿Cómo puede ser que los mis-mos que le aclaman tan positiva y alegremente ahora piden que le crucifiquen porque él mis-mo se ha declarado Hijo de Dios? Jesús habló con la verdad y esa verdad fue la razón por la que padeció y fue a la cruz y murió por no-sotros. “Te adoramos, O Cristo y te bendecimos, porque por tu santa cruz redimiste al mundo”. La entrada triunfante de Jesús a Jerusalén es precisamente nuestra entrada a la Semana Santa. Entramos en el misterio pascual que cele-bra la muerte y resurrección de Cristo. Entramos a la semana en que se lleva a cumplimiento las palabras y acciones de Jesús durante su vida pública. “Les aseguro que si el grano de trigo que cae en la tierra no muere, queda solo; pero si muere, da mucho fruto” (Jn. 12, 24). Estas son las palabras de Jesús que nos ayudan a comprender este gran misterio de su pasión, muerte y resu-rrección. Su muerte era inevitable porque esa fue la razón por la que él vino al mundo. Él tuvo que morir de modo que nos diera el perdón por nuestros pecados y la vida eterna. Su muerte fue lo que causó victoria a nuestras vidas, a pesar de que no nos la merecíamos, pero por su gran misericordia y amor por la humanidad, ganó para nosotros esta vida que hemos recibido. In-clinemos nuestra cabeza ante su santa cruz y agradezcamos al Señor por su bondad y amabi-lidad, por no mirar nuestro pecado sino que mas bien por amarnos con ternura y compasión. Hoy entramos con Jesús triunfante a Je-rusalén, a la ciudad santa, para conmemorar y celebrar el regalo de nuestra salvación gracias a su muerte y resurrección. Qué bendecidos somos de que ustedes y yo hayamos sido escogidos para caminar con Jesús al calvario, para morir a nues-tra antiguo modo de vida y levantarnos con Él a nueva y mejor vida. Caminemos juntos como iglesia, como la parroquia St. Margaret y expe-rimentemos la redención que Jesús obtuvo para nosotros con su sacrificio en la cruz donde no-sotros, que estábamos perdidos y muertos ahora hemos sido encontrados y estamos vivos por Dios.

La mejor manera de acompañar a Jesús durante esta semana de nuestra redención es viniendo y participando en los diferentes servicios litúrgi-cos y ceremonias religiosas que tendremos aquí:

Hay muchos problemas en el mundo entero. La gente sufre de hambre, de falta de trabajo y de las cosas básicas de la vida. Además tenemos muchas perso-nas sufriendo a causa de la vio-lencia y los conflictos y esta es

una realidad que ustedes ven en las noticias todos los días. Estas son algunas de las razones por las que la gente emigra, se marchan a otras partes del mundo y van allá a los Estados Unidos. Ya que ustedes son tan bendecidos con cosas tan buenas, las personas viajan allá buscando una vida mejor. Ellos deben de pedir visa para venir a ese país, pero cuando se presentan ante las autoridades del consulado les niegan la visa. A causa del hambre, la violencia y la falta de empleos, estas personas cruzan la frontera sin permiso y por eso son in-documentados. Como ustedes son cristianos deben ser más com-prensivos ya que los ancestros de

ese país vinieron de otras tierras lejanas y quizá muchos de ellos también fueron indocumentados y se quedaron. Todos deben rezar para que haya una reforma justa y razonable en su país.Vi en las noticias cómo en California hay una gran necesi-dad de empleados para trabajar en el campo. De-bido a las estrictas leyes de ese país se están echan-do a perder las cosechas y las pérdidas económicas son inmensas. No estoy aquí para contestar algu-nos de sus interrogantes, pero por favor traten de entender a estas personas porque ellos también son sus hermanos y hermanas y fueron a los Es-tados Unidos, no porque no querían su país natal sino porque tuvieron que dejarlo todo atrás, pues sus vidas corrían peligro. Sé que Jesús quiere que ustedes sean compasivos y comprensibles con to-dos aquellos que son indocumentados y hoy están viviendo con mucho temor e incertidumbre sin saber si sus familias serán separadas en cualquier momento. Oren por todos ellos. Chao, guau, guau.

EL REGALO DE LA CAPILLA DE ADORACIÓN

Al acercarnos a esta celebración del misterio pas-cual quiero invitarles a que nos acompañen vi-niendo a la Capilla de adoración por una hora a la semana. Tenemos bastantes horas para cubrir donde necesitamos personas, especialmente los fines de semana. No debemos dejar solo al Santísi-mo, siempre debe estar alguien presente. La capil-la está abierta para todos los visitantes de lunes a viernes de 9 am a 5 pm. Para venir antes o después de esas horas o los fines de semana, deben inscri-birse en la oficina para obte-ner la clave y poder entrar a la capilla para venir a pasar tiempo con Jesús eucaristía. Por favor aprovechen esta gran oportunidad de estar en presencia del Señor vivo.

Viernes santo8 AM – Oración de la mañana 11:30 AM – Vía Crucis; la procesión empieza en el parque 7 PM – Liturgia conmemorando la muerte de Jesús (en ingles será a las 3 pm). Luego de la Misa habrá una procesión con la imagen del Señor por el vecindario

Sábado santo8 AM – Oración de la mañana y Ritos para el grupo de Rito de iniciación cristiana8 PM – Vigilia pascual, empieza en frente de la escuela, en la Columba Street

SITUACIÓN DE NUESTRO PARQUEADEROYa que nuestra comunidad sigue creciendo el par-queo se pone imposible. Deben saber que el parqueo es para el uso de la iglesia y la grua va a remolcar los carros y ustedes serán responsables de los costos. Quiero recordarles a todos que nadie se debe par-quear en las vías de emergencia (fire line) las áreas marcadas con líneas amarillas. Nuestro vecino The Daily Plan It, abre su negocio los fines de semana, así que ellos también necesitan usar el lado que les pertenece del parqueo, así que llamarán a la grúa si un carro está bloqueando sus carros. Cobran $175 dólares y lo paga el dueño del carro. Asi que por favor no desatienda esto, no se parquee en las vías de emergencia (fire lane) ni al pie de las aceras o andenes de la iglesia.
