NBCUSD 2011 AYP Concerns
HS Graduation rate, particularly some sub-groups
Low income student performance in reading & math
IEP student performance in reading & math
Hispanic math scores
Poplar Grove & NBUE are new to not making AYP
Attendance rules are changing to identify children as chronic truants after missing 5% of a school year.
AP Courses
Advanced Placement Scores weren’t good this year
However a record number of students took the exams
29 students took 34 exams
Percentage of students receiving a score of 3 or better dropped to 31%.
Only 17 students took exams in 2007, but 88% of them received scores of 3 or higher
