FOR RELEASE 9 A.M. EST, OCTOBER 7, 2014 MORE PRESS RELEASE The Association of Collegiate Training Institutions Announces Anthony Gagliardo as Executive Director. Washington, D.C., October 7, 2014: The Association of Collegiate Training Institutions (ACTI) announced today that Anthony (Tony) Gagliardo, formerly a director at the Federal Aviation Administration, has accepted the position of Executive Director. Gagliardo brings broad based government and industry experience to the ACTI executive board. Tony’s prior experience includes leading the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Organization’s Technical Training Support Directorate, where he guided efforts to modernize and transform training for the Federal Aviation Administration’s 20,000 air traffic controllers and 6,000 Maintenance Technicians. In addition to directing training technology infrastructure, content design and architecture, contract programs, and simulation strategy, Gagliardo oversaw a $1.2 billion air traffic training support contract at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, Okla., and at more than 300 operational facilities across the U.S. Gagliardo also lead the Technical Training’s Advanced Collegiate and Military Certification Program. Gagliardo previously managed the design and development of Delta Air Lines Flight Operations Training as part of the Research Advanced Qualification and Development Group. Previously, he managed several key departments in Northwest Airlines Flight Operations including the In-Flight Training, Technical Publication and Business Development units. Gagliardo was instrumental in the modernization as the Flight Operations division transitioned its business strategy and initiatives – including Boeing 787 infrastructure design and support – following the merger with Delta. Prior to that, he guided an aircraft contract field team for Boeing, and was a lead aviation technician for Lockheed-Martin, where he supervised electricians and avionics technicians in the retrofit of the C-5 Galaxy cargo aircraft. Prior to transitioning to civil and private sector service Gagliardo managed the wide body flight engineer training program within the United States Air Force, and performed senior special operations instructor responsibilities as a crewmember in multiple combat theaters of operations as well as provided Presidential support. Washington, D.C., October 7, 2014: The Association of Collegiate Training Institutions (ACTI) announced

Gagliardo has published numerous articles in the field of technical training and corporate transformation,

he was most recently published in the industry leading Chief Learning Officer Magazine “Federal Manager”

and the FAA’s “Managing the Skies” magazines.

As an active member in the law enforcement community Gagliardo maintains current certification as an

armed level One Police Officer in Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department as an active Reserve

Officer with full police powers. Gagliardo actively patrols the 6th District in Washington DC.

Gagliardo earned a Master degree in Management and Public Administration (American Public University)

Bachelors in Management (American Public University) and Associate degree in Aviation Science.

Gagliardo is a graduate of the Government’s Federal Executive Institutes SES Preparation Course.

Gagliardo maintains FAA certifications as a Pilot, Flight Engineer and an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
