Starting from the idea that all information on the qualitative theory of quadratic systems in the plane, including books, papers and preprints in any language, can be, in principle, useful for the classification of the phase portraits of these systems, the author collected all material he could find, as produced in the 20th century and the beginning of the 21th century. As a result a bibliography, usually giving also a summary, and ordered chronologically in order to be able to follow the historic development of the subject, was produced which can be found on the site http://ta.twi.tudelft.n1/DV/StafT/J.W. Reyn.html

A selection of this material was used for the present book and listed below; also in chronological order and with a notation such that the year of publication is obvious (so [ab,L] means that in the year 19ab a paper was published by an author with a family name beginning with an L, with the exception that at the end of the list [ab,L] indicates 20ab.)

Obviously, the flow of papers on quadratic systems will continue to yield information that will enable the completion of the classification of the phase portraits of quadratic systems. Hopefully further editions of this book will eventually yield a complete collection.
