Spiritual Direction is time spent with a trained listener. Someone who can help us better under-stand our own story and where God has been present to us through the events of our lives. It is through our Spirituality that we respond to that love, as we reach out to those in need around us.

The true Director of our Spirituality is the Holy Spirit; God himself. But a trained confidential ear can be invaluable as we seek out the answers that only God can provide. Have you ever won-dered where God was in your day, your week , or life? Have you ever tried to discern what God’s plan for your life is? Have you ever tried to make sense out of an event in your life, and ask why did this happen? Spiritual Directors do not give you the answers but help you experience the an-swers as the Holy Spirit reveals them to you.

Spiritual Directors meet with directees usually once every four to six weeks for about an hour. A free will donation is asked for each session, but other arrangements can be made. For further information please con-tact Deacon Darrell Kel-sey at (708) 990-2689 or [email protected].

We invite those who wish to participate to join us in the dedication program by remembering a loved one in a memorial dedicated on one of our

chapel seats ($500), a church pew ($2,500), a classroom ($5,000) or even have a building named in honor of your loved one. For more info, contact the Office at (815) 727-4746.

On December 22nd (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m., we will be decorat-ing the inside of the church. We will provide light refresh-ments and food for the event. Everyone is welcome to bring a plate to share. Thanks for all your help - I really appreci-ate you putting out the word about these events! - Jim Smith, Maintenance

—Miguel Arias, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
