“O”● Units of a company that perform a function

● These units can be departments, groups or project teams depending on task allocationin a company

●  An organizational structure is created byrelating organizational units to one another

Position: Object Type “S”

● Positions are concrete and can beoccupied by holders at a company

● Positions can be 100% filled, partially filledor vacant

● One position can also be shared by severalemployees, each working less than full

Object Relationships

● Each standard relationship has a three digit key

● Namespace AAA to ZZZ is reserved for customer specificrelationships

Relationships between objects are reciprocal● Creating a relationship in only one direction is sufficient.

Plan Versions

●  Allows to depict alternative plans in the system

● Only one plan version can be integrated

●  Allows to manage several organizational plans in the

system at the same time●  Active plan version is the integration plan version

● Plan versions exist independently of each other

Object ID and Number ranges

● Object Ids are numeric and do not contain any letters

● Object ID can be assigned via internal or external number assignment

Number intervals can be defined per plan version and per object type

● Example: Subgroup 10S = Number assignment for planversion 10 and object type S

Example: Subgroup $$O = Plan version independentnumber assignment for object type O

Time Constraints

● Used to control system reactions according to companyspecific requirements

● Time constraint 1 example: An object must always have ashort name. This information must exist uninterrupted, but

can be changed

● Time constraint 2 example: At any one time, a positionmay only have one vacancy infotype record

● Time constraint 3 example: An org. unit can be related

with number of positions simultaneously● Time constraint depending on target object type: A

position is described by one job only, but by several tasks
