What is a Personal Elevator Speech? Sometimes referred to in the business/recruiting world as a 3-4 Minute Drill. It is a way for you to answer the question “Tell Me About Yourself.”

A little information about your background Create a quick story about yourself that provides interesting insights. Share facts that we don’t know

about you, that we should. Share facts that we cannot read about you on your resume/application or an accomplishment on your

resume/application that you would like to bring to life.

Think of the impact a hard-hitting commercial can have on you. The Personal Elevator Speech can generate the same type of enthusiasm for you in your interview situation if it is well done and thoroughly thought out.

The drill/speech is a verbal resume/application that captures the listener’s interest and brings he/she up to date on your background in a clear, concise manner, include possibly; year in schools, clubs, non-Rainbow activities, plans after school/college, career goals.

You have the floor, how can you articulate a message that does not sound like it’s all about me, yet share with the audience fascinating facts about who you are and what you bring to the table.

TIPS:
