WELCOME TO THE SAGE YMCA!Strengthening communities is our cause. We serve three crucial areas of focus to help individuals, families and communities learn, grow and thrive.

The Y is for Youth Development, because we believe all kids deserve opportunities to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through the Y, youth today are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.

The Y is for Healthy Living, improving the nation’s health and well-being. The Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests.

The Y is for Social Responsibility, giving back and providing support to all our neighbors. Whether developing life skills or emotional well-being, and advocating for healthier communities, the Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve.

The Y is for the entire community, and is open to everyone. Donors enable the Sage YMCA, a charitable, non-profit organization to offer a Financial Assistance Program for those individuals and families that qualify. We are here to serve you, your family and all of our community while developing your spirit, mind and body.

Welcome!

Robyn OstremExecutive Director

Literally millions of people have learned to swim through the YMCA's perfected program. In Y Swim Lessons participants learn and practice new swimming skills and feel a sense of achievement from mastering something new that they can enjoy the rest of their lives.

Fitness Consultation Learn how to reach your goals in the most effective and safe way. Fitness consultations are free to all members. Why should I sign up for a fitness consultation? Because everyone is different; what works for one person could be harmful for another. A fitness consultation will guide you toward your specific goals, address your exercise experience and nutrition habits, address some of the most common mistakes most exercisers make and how to avoid them and learn about programs offered at our Y that can help you reach your goals.

Y Max Personal Training Max Personal Training goes beyond personal training. It is a complete exercise and nutrition system customized to your goals, nutrition habits, health, fitness experience and predispositions. Key features of Max Personal Training include: weekly exercise plan for the days without your trainer, nutritional assignments specific to your eating habits and preferences, setting a weight goal for every month, functional components to improve your lower back and joint strength, progress monitoring and accountability and regular changes and upgrades in the exercise program to avoid muscle adaptation.

Personal Training Our team of Certified Personal Trainers is very goal-oriented. Trainers will not just give you an exercise program; the will offer encouragement, accountability and their exercise expertise. It is our trainers' priority to hold you accountable for your goals and lead you towards measurable results!

NEW!

Y MaxTraining has changed my whole life to go in a better direction - from the food I eat to how I take care of myself. I feel so much better about myself since joining the Sage YMCA. I will always be thankful for my trainer, Diane, in helping me through my new path in life. It would be hard to find a better person and trainer then Diane. But not only Diane, the whole staff at the YMCA is helpful in my new quest. Thanks to all the staff for making the Sage YMCA a positive place to go.

My experience this past year with the Sage YMCA Preschool was my first one and the program exceeded my expectations. I was beyond impressed with the curriculum and the swim lessons that my son had twice a week while in the three days a week program. I am so happy with how much he learned educationally, emotionally and physically. We have the amazingly dedicated and caring staff of preschool teachers, preschool director and swim instructors to thank for that. The atmosphere they created was warm, friendly, open and family like.

Strong Communities Start Here™ Sage YMCA 2015 FALL SESSION

At the Y we are more than a gym. We are a cause dedicated to building strong children, families and communities – inside and out. This includes making our programs available to all regardless of need – because at the Y, everyone belongs. You can help us in the cause. Change a life by making a gift to the YMCA. Because membership dues and program fees support our daily operations, your gift will go directly to serving children and families in need. The impact of your gift will be felt when:• A kindergartner starts school ready to

learn because he attended the Y’s early learning center.

• Kids have a safe, nurturing environment to go to after school and in the summer.

• A child learns to swim – a critical life lesson for all.

• A family is able to spend quality time together while focusing on staying active and healthy.

• A child loses weight – and enjoys it –because at the Y, exercise is play.

MAKE A GIFT. CHANGE A LIFE. Make your gift today at donate.ymcachicago.org.

Sage YMCA Member, Alana Subleski, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2014. After a year of recovery, countless physical therapy sessions and many successes and struggles, Alana and her family decided personal training was the best way to get her back to strength and continuing on the road to full recovery.

“I wanted to return to the gym so my Mom called the Sage YMCA and inquired about a personal trainer. I was introduced to Holen who was willing to work with me. She even took the time to do some research on brain aneurysms and exercises that would help strengthen by hips and knees. She was great - working me hard and helping me to grow stronger… There’s no giving up!”’

– Alana Subleski – Sage YMCA Personal Training Client
