POW died of wounds 24th June 1918 (age 21). His Bristol Fighter (B1122) was shot down by a German Albatross and in the crash he suffered severe injuries to his nose; both he and his observer Lt Finney were taken prisoner. Due to his badly cured injuries he contracted gangrene in his nose, so the Germans decided to ship him and Finney back to Berlin, but the trip was too much given his condition and he died in a hospital near Berlin. The Germans buried him with full military honours at Stahnsdorf Cemetery. Son of Robert and Abbie Colvill-Jones, of Cangallo 456, Buenos Aires, Argentine. His brother Robert Colvill-Jones, M.C. also fell. Both lived in Hurlingham. Member of the Villa Devoto Lawn Tennis Club.
