PrinciPal’s rePort
The Year 12 students wrapped up their formal academic class time today with an interesting celebration. Some traditions were maintained with a few twists. Bus travellers had to ‘walk’ to school – well walk from the front gate through the shelter and into the school building to be ‘greeted’ by the 12’s. Assembly was a celebration followed by the traditional dodge ball chal-lenge match between the students and staff. After 15 minutes of dodge ball combat, neither the students nor the staff gained the ascendancy. Following morning tea with the staff, the Year 12 students departed to prepare for their first exam which is English scheduled for Wednesday 1st November. Staff and students wish the Year 12 students all the very best for their exams and for the future. Staff will be meeting up with the Year 12s again at the Valedic-tory Dinner on Friday 17th November after all of the exams are over.
Transition
The next round of transition sessions take place over the next few weeks. On Tuesday, the Year 6 students will be visiting us for the day. After their day’s work, they will be joined by their parents for an afternoon tea and an information session. Meanwhile, the kinder to prep transition sessions will take place over the next few months on Wednesdays as we head to-wards the state-wide orientation day which is scheduled for Tuesday 12th December.
School Captains
School Captains for 2018 were announced at our school assembly today. The current Year 12 Captains, Amalie and Angelika, depart for their study days, enabling the new captains to step into the role for the next month or so leading into 2018.
On behalf of the students and staff I thank Amalie and Angelika for the wonderful job they have done this year as student leaders. They have advocated for the College, represented the students at various events and were the student voice on College Council.
Our new School Captains bring a wealth of youth leadership experience to the position. Con-gratulations to Jacob holm (College Captain) and Chloe McGee (Vice-Captain) on their appoint-ment to the role. They are both exemplary students who have a strong commitment to the College and who are very keen to represent the interests of students and the College. Congrat-ulations, Jacob and Chloe.
Year 5-6 Camp
By all reports the students and staff are having a great time in Melbourne. They return tomor-

Pet safety stories by P-3
Debra had a dog named Icy. It was a girl dog. Icy had white fur. Deb was here to teach us about dog safety. To stay safe around dogs, ask the owner if you can pat the dog. To pat the dog you tuck your thumb in and let the dog sniff your hand and walk around to the side
