– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 254

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 32,000

About the Community• Geographical Location: The Village Lodta Haridasota is situated in a

remote area nearly 90 kms away from Jodhpur District. It is situated in the midst of sand dunes & 15 kms. inside from NH 114 Jodhpur-Jaisalmer Highway.

• Cultural Background: - There is several different communities lives together like Rajput, Bishnoi, Meghwal, Prajapat & Suthar etc. Dominating caste is Rajput. Main resources of livelihood are farming & animal husbandry. Only 35% community is literate. Orthodox families having strong belief in traditions & customs.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: The school has worked as changing in attitude towards education especially for girl child. We organizes PTMs & community development campaigns in which we not only discuss on the development of students but also generate awareness about education, health & hygiene, environmental awareness & other social burning issues etc.

• Participation in ‘Design for Giving’ School Contest: This contest has provided us a platform that from a small village we can share our efforts which is creating awareness in community nearby & provided us an opportunity to show our efforts.

In assembly & in our classes we told about the effect of the Alcohol and how to aware people to leave that. We also told about the benefit of not using alcohol in their daily life and keep us fit.

We ‘Experience’:

We Experience that People living nearby the school are most Drink on daily basis. Which is harmful for their health and for their kids also. We saw how it effect them and their children's. This all made us to think that can run a campaign regarding the generating awareness regarding Alcohol and their Harmful effect on them and their kids.

• Disease free & healthy community

• Kids will not start the drinking habits when grow up

• Community will understand the effect of alcohol and how to reduce the habit and be safe.

• Creating awareness especially among men about the bad habit, how to overcome from that habit and be safe.

We ‘Imagined’:

• We create some posters & charts showing some ill effects of Alcohol & also how it effect family.

We ‘Did’:

• We organized rallies & also generating awareness amount villagers about the harmful effect of Alcohol.

• The most important thing we did was that we present a act among the villagers in the village. Which shows about the use of Alcohol and its effect.

• The Show also teach us that how to overcome the habit of Drinking.

• Through this campaign with the help of teachers we aware the villagers about the alcohol and its effect on our families. We found that they understand the effect of alcohol on their body and also on family.

• Few villagers have shown their faith in the overcome the drinking habit on daily basis.
