Clean Up Australia DayThank you to the Maclean High School students who volunteered to pick up bits of rubbish that appear around the playground. They managed to retrieve a few wayward soccer balls and softballs as well as collect a few pieces to recycle and make a bit of cash for the SRC. The best part is that those who have been doing it since Year 7 have noticed a serious decline in large waste. We are so proud of your effort to give back to the school community by keeping our learning spaces clean and safe to be in. Being so close to the Clarence River we understand the importance of stopping rubbish getting into our waterways! Special mention to Ms Vadher for organising the event and also Danielle Bryant from the Canteen for supplying surprise treats on completion!

Northern Rivers Zone Swimming Championships 2019A successful day was had for the thirty one students who represented Maclean High School at the Northern Rivers Zone Swimming Carnival held at Lismore Memorial Pool. The Maclean team was successful in winning the boys and girls point score and as a result of this fine effort was named Champion School.

Congratulations to the girls: Lilli Young - 15 years Age Champion and Lily Johnson - 16 years Age Champion. For the boys, well done to Gus Gilbert - 14 years Age Champion and Thomas Gallagher - 15 years Age Champion.

Other highlights from the day were the 4 x 50 metre relays, Maclean were successful placing 1st in the Boys 13 and 14 years and the 13, 14 and 15 years Girls.

Thirty swimmers qualified for the North Coast Regional Championships held at Murwillumbah.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who became a very vocal cheer squad supporting our swimmers. Mr Andrew Whiteside.

If you’re keen to get involved with the rowing team have a chat with Miss Jagoe or select rowing as your weekly sport!
