Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the last few weeks, our teachers have been busy assessing and writing academic reports for your children. This year we have a new reporting style that meets the NSW Department of Education Assessing and Reporting guidelines.

On Friday 28 June, your child will bring their report home in a sealed envelope. For split families and for students that require an academic report to be sent to a service and/or specialist we ask that you inform the front office of any changes as soon as possible.

When you get your child’s report please read over it carefully and be aware that if your child receives a ‘C’ grade this indicates they are working at their grade level. In all reports teachers have also taken the time to indicate future learning goals or recommendations for learning at home, such as daily reading.

Should you have any concerns about your child’s report please see your child’s class teacher.

This week Ali Hutchinson, our Business Manager, has started in her role at the school, I welcome Ali to the LEPS family and the support she will bring to the school.

Please be mindful that the school needs to take a firmer line with notes and payments coming into the school. The cut off date is just that and if you are concerned about not being able to pay on time, please discuss this with your child’s teacher or the office as arrangements can be made to assist you. We have to remain firm with these cut off dates due to the processing time it takes behind the scenes to ensure each child attends their event/activity.

Thank you for understanding,

Mrs Nic Williams Principal

Mortimer Shield

TEAM LEPS

Last Tuesday,11 June, the girls from the LEPS Senior League Tag team went to Wagga Wagga to compete against other schools in the Mortimer Shield competition. It was meant to be a warm, sunny day, however, we ended up playing in the mud. Pigs would have been very happy!

Our first game was hard but we played to the best of our ability and we lost by one try. As the day went on we turned up our skills and we won our second game by 6 tries. This meant we had to play one more game for the day. Turns out cold, wet hands and feet meant it was hard to play to our full potential and we lost our third and final game.

Although we didn’t win the overall competition, we became stronger as a team and worked really well together to play the best we could. We are really proud of the LEPS team for making it this far! GO LEPS!

Makaia, Calais, Nikiah, Rose, Star, Summahbelle, Phoebe, Cheyenne, Grace.
