Cheers 46, the first Benetti Veloce 140, marks the Italian yard’s entry into fast displacement territory, or what Benetti
terms Displacement to Planing (D2P). In brief, the hull boasts the comfort and efficiency of a full-displacement design
with the higher speeds of semi-displacement ones. Equally important, D2P fulfills clients’ requests for fuel efficiency at
speeds higher than the norm, which would generally be in the low teens. Cheers 46, owned by repeat customers,
combines all of this with the semi-custom approach characteristic of the Benetti Class range.
Cheers 46 is powered by twin 3,460-hp MTU 12V 4000 M93L diesels, the largest set to date installed aboard a yacht built
at Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard. She achieves a reported 12-knot cruise and top speeds exceeding 20 knots, plus is said
to be about 30 percent more fuel efficient than a traditional planing yacht.

Redman Whiteley Dixon created three decor packages for the Veloce 140: Air, Land, and Sea. Each is characterized by
tones and textures meant to evoke specific sensations. Air, for example, which was selected by the brothers who own
Cheers 46, is meant to look light and feel modern. Land has a classic, almost club-like feel, while Sea strikes middle
grand between classic and modern decors.
The owners brought João Armentano, a Brazilian architect and designer, in to collaborate on the interior. Tay, a
tropical African wood more commonly called Koto, figures prominently aboard Cheers 46 in a light gray stain. Soles are
mostly a darker-stained tabu, a wood type that counts ash, walnut, and others among its grouping. This modern, airy
atmosphere gets heightened at the main-deck dining area due to nearly floor-to-ceiling ports.
In an unconventional twist, Cheers 46 has a massive main-deck gym where you’d expect to find the master suite. The
gym further benefits from a fold-out side terrace to starboard, which was added at their request. The brothers saw it,
complete with a clear-glass insert, aboard the Benetti Classic Supreme 132 Petrus and liked it. A lot of work went into
the gym. Initially it included a sauna and hot tub, both of which were removed toward the end of the build. The
overhead heights had to be redone to accommodate the equipment (and people using it), too. The brothers did,
however, retain a massage room to port.
Because of the gym’s location, the master suite and four guest staterooms are all below decks. The two VIPs and two

twin staterooms are modest in size as a result, but don’t suffer from lack of space.
Double sets of stairs allow everyone to access the beach club aboard Cheers 46. Inside is a bar, running the length of
the room, convenient for those lounging on the platform to grab a cool drink. More alfresco relaxation takes place on
the sundeck, of course, with a hot tub, two additional bars, and plenty of TVs. The owners and their kids love to spend
time up here watching football games and more. If the hot tub is too crowded, another one is situated at the bow.
Alternately, a diving board can be set up on the main aft deck.
First steps into new territory can be risky, but Benetti did its homework with the D2P hull. It started with
computational fluid dynamic studies, then scale-model tank tests. Not all yards perform the latter for new designs. The
owners of Cheers 46 further benefitted from an existing relationship with the company, previously owning an Azimut
116. With three more Veloce 140s in build and a smaller Vivace 125 series debuting next year, Benetti is underscoring
why it’s consistently among the busiest builders around.

The latest from the Benetti yards is the 60m FB255 M/Y Formosa, sold in 2012 by Fraser Yachts, and launched
on schedule the 4th of this month at Livorno.
The steel and aluminium super yacht, whose exterior styling and lines were all drawn in house at Benetti, has
five decks, a beam of 10.6m and a total volume of 1,060 gross tons.
The interior layout and design of the guest’s area were created by the Sinot Design Studio, in close
collaboration with the owner. The layout is articulated in five suites for up to ten guests, and sets aside one
whole deck for the owner’s apartments. The captain plus a crew of fourteen is available to see to all the
guest’s needs.
M/Y Formosa FB255 – powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines, developing 1,380kwh at 1,800rpm, the
FB255 has a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. At the fuel saving speed of 12
knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.

Benetti prepares launch of 60 metre FB 255Formosa

Jan Jaap Minnema of Fraser Yachts in Monaco tells us that Benetti project FB 255, sold by him in thespring of 2012, will be launched today. The 60 metre superyacht, named Formosa, will be lowered intothe water later today.
Jan Jaap commented this morning "FB 255 is being launched today, precisely on schedule. The constructionhas gone very smoothly, much to the credit of Captain Sebastien Boutin together with his team, and Benetti".

Formosa will accommodate up to 12 guests, in a large upper deck forward owner's cabin, two main deck VIPcabins, and 3 lower deck guest cabins. The bridge deck houses a large pool aft, as well as a captain's cabinand a secretary's cabin.

An insider's view of superyacht Lady Candy

Who better to know how an owner can draw the best use of space from their yacht, than a captain? PaulBrackley, captain/designer/project manager, used his experience at the helm to create a yacht whichmoulds to the guest experience with seamless, beautiful functionality. Lady Candy’s mastermind talksus through the process.
With 20 years in the industry as an engineer and captain, PaulBrackley has had plenty of time to observe how guests reallyuse yachts. Not the way designers think they use the yacht, orthe way in which builders would like them to use the yacht, buthow they really get down to the business of relaxing onboard.
Having put that knowledge to good use through his company,Central Yacht, in build supervision and operation of 65- metreAmbrosia and charter award-winning 60m Xanadu, Brackleywas ready to sketch their successor. A well-timed tip-off that apotential client was discussing plans for a 55-metre yacht ledto a speculative trip to Hong Kong, where this designer-captain secured a meeting with the client; and quicklyafterwards, his trust. That owner partnership was to paydividends, with the end result 56-metre, Benetti-built, LadyCandy.
The experienced owner knew just what he wanted and hadthe plans to show it. Passionate about the water and a keendiver, he needed easy access to the sea as well as placinggreat emphasison privacy.

The problem? The plans didn‘t quite work on a practical level. “Having succeeded in getting an interview withthe future owner, I was shown the plans for a rather misguided motoryacht. Consider that the laundry wasaccessed only through the dining room and you can understand how bad it was,” says Brackley.
All wasn’t lost however, with the planned feature of two master cabins on the upper deck retained, and added towith Brackley’s ideas of a panoramic salon, central massage room with signature picture window and,importantly, the placement of the tender garage forward on the main deck.Those two, very private, mastercabins, created to house the owner and his daughter, after whom the yacht is named, also make Lady Candyan enviable prospect for charter marketing having annulled the possibility of two principals arguing over amaster suite.
Brackley then fine-tuned the concept with that design insight of his, honed through years of careful observationof the practical flow of movement around, and use of, a yacht. First came the functionality; then the looks. The56-metre feels like a much larger yacht, with an 88m2 main salon and five decks demonstrating an easy,natural flow of movement radiating from a central lobby.

“Understanding the real operation, use and function of an object, especially one as complex as a yacht, isimperative to create a practical design. Making the design beautiful is the ultimate and more subjective goal.However, first the design has to work or the client’s appreciation and enjoyment will be short lived.”
Much of that appreciation and enjoyment is as intangible as guests getting the right feeling as they step aboard,and Brackley is proud to say that many guests have described Lady Candy as feeling welcoming and deliveringa strong sense of home.
“The first impression of the yacht conveys something hard to define, it is just a feeling; you know something isdifferent but you don’t know what it is. I think this is down to the meticulous attention to detail that comes fromhaving the designer on the yacht almost everyday of the construction.”
As an underwater enthusiast and diver, a beach club was a must for the owner, and Brackley delivered andthen some, adding a bar, gymnasium, steam shower, bathroom and living area next to the swim platform, withseparate entraces for guests and crew.
Both internal and external stairways provide access to the swim platform and that operational knowledge ofBrackley’s once again comes to the fore.
“The fixed swim platform is far more welcoming to guests, whom I have never found to be comfortable with thefloating type, opening door platform commonly found on a yacht this size.”

Though exterior modifications stayed within the envelope of the Benetti standard platform, Lady Candy’s layoutis radically different with that tender garage forward on the main deck freeing up the stern for the impressivebeach club, and interior spaces.
“I opted for an athwartship launch to keep the door opening as narrow as possible. Some other yachts stow thetender in the same area but launch the tender lengthways. This eats into the main deck floor space andrequires a very large and heavy door and reinforcing. I also prefer single point lifting for tenders as this makes ita much quicker and safer job to hook up the tender, as well as requiring only one crewmember,” says Brackley.
This same positioning results in Lady Candy’s beach club and astonishingly light, bright massage room andowner office, separated by a glass partition; the perfect spot to watch the wake from the stern portholes whileunderway.
“Having operated a number of Benetti yachts I was quite adamant that the stern tender garage had to go. OnXanadu, I had to confine guests on board several times because it was too rough to launch the tender from thestern garage and even on Ambrosia, the stern side garages were often too dangerous to launch or retrieve theboats. ”
That intelligent use of space continues up through the yacht, crowned with a more-protected sundeck than isusual, behind the bridge. This holds significant advantage over a traditional open sundeck, points out Brackley,when asked if it was the result of a compromise. “The central arch of more conventional sun decks becomes awind tunnel accelerating whatever breeze there is to uncomfortable levels. Placing the dining table in the windtunnel (for sun and rain protection) creates a very unpleasant dining area where napkins and occasionallyglasses fly away. On Lady Candy the wheelhouse protects the sundeck from the wind creating a perfectalfresco dining and cooking area.”

And not at the expense of sunworshipping. Lady Candy carries more sunbeds than a 60-metre Benetti when theVIP and owner’s terraces on the upper deck are taken into account. Incredibly, there were zero change ordersduring the build. Brackley attributes this to more than a year spent in planning stages and four years of fullimmersion in designing, building and launching the yacht - and that launch happened two weeks before itscontractual date.
At that point Brackley then replaced his captain’s hat and set about the putting his creation through her paces.
“I made a 3,500 mile shakedown cruise around the Mediterranean and then a delivery trip to the Maldiveswhere I handed over to the new captain. With over 8000 miles in navigation and operating experience I can sayI am very happy and would not change anything.”
This is a user-friendly yacht; a liveable space which invites guests in and makes them feel at home. Four guestscabins are found on the lower deck, with 5 cabins for the 10-person crew plus captain’s cabin and a furthercabin on upper deck for 2 staff. Above, the spacious main deck draws guests with that enormous main salon, abar, plush sofas, dining room, galley and cinema, and above that, the owner and VIP suite are located in totalprivacy. With the VIP suite to the bow and owner’s astern, each has panoramic water views with private terrace.A secret crew access to the foredeck through the tender garage is located below the VIP terrace.
Though his time is divided between being a captain, project manager, and a designer, Brackley finds the threefunctions complementary and believes the end result tells its own story. And he doesn’t necessarily have to putdown one role, while he carries out another.
“As captain I can check my designs and ideas in operation and witness guest interaction and feedback. Asproject manager, I am not just following the build but fine-tuning and modifying design along the way. Creativedesign is something I really enjoy and with modern technology it is so easy to give form to ideas. I can take anidea for a 50m yacht to a fully modelled and animated rendering in a couple of days or a week working eveningsso I can actually be a designer while operating a yacht or building one.”
So what’s next for the captain in the designer’s seat? Brackley has no shortage of ideas for more.
“I would like to work more closely with a shipyard in developing a completely custom project.” In the designcupboard we have a very innovative 70-metre contemporary yacht with clever use of space and exceptional

Benetti Yachts has been one of the survivors through the worst period in yachting history but not only have they survived, they have flourished.
Hillary Buckman spoke with Vincenzo Poerio CEO of Benetti Yachts about his passion for the ocean and how he has managed to keep the brand way above waterline.
The Benetti yard in Viareggio has been extended to accommodate growth and changing technology.
When did your love of the ocean begin?I was born in one of the most beautiful Italian cities that overlooks a wonderful bay on the Tyrrhenian Sea: Naples. I have always loved the sea and it has always provided a feeling of freedom.

My father was a merchant with a passion for wine. Although he passed me his passion – indeed I produce my wine on my farm near Siena – my interest and curiosity for the sea and engineering werestronger. I studied at the University of Naples to become an engineer. Before joining Benetti, I worked as a researcher in Genoa and for some naval shipyards.
You started with Benetti Yachts in 1994. What was your career path through the company ranks?The first years I was in Benetti there was a lot of building to do, details to take care of. Now we have to maintain what we have achieved and grow based on our strengths.
This company is in the game for the long run and as we have done in the past, we continue to invest in improving the quality and the innovation of our products.
There are the differences that underlie the world of yachting today. Yachts are not getting bigger only because technology is allowing them to; it is the market that is different, the economy is too.
Today’s client for a custom superyacht has consolidated his wealth and is standing on a solid base. He or she usually comes from a country that has a mature and stable economy. The typical Benetticustom client does not come to us to buy a ready-made yacht, they come to construct one together with us.
They are not interested in showing off, they want to express their tastes and live a genuine rapport with the sea. These clients are successful people who have achieved much in life. They come to us withideas and expectations that are a challenge and stimulus. When we meet, they give us a briefing, making no concessions to compromise, and their success becomes ours. Quality is our only route to thatsuccess.
You have been working at Benetti for over 20 years. What are some of the main changes you have seen in this time within the yard and designs?Let’s put it this way: yachting is where 75 other industrial sectors intersect: Electronics, mechanics, building materials and even paints.
The materials that go into building a yacht change and improve constantly. We have to be flexible and adaptable to stay abreast of change. It would be so easy if we could just create one product thatworks then sit back and do the same thing the same way always. However, in Benetti that is never going to happen.
With 320 Yachts built since 1960 we gain experiences in the construction process and we continue researching, enhancing, empowering and building every Yachts.
The 55-metre Ocean Paradise was custom built in 2013.
Can you tell us what is currently in build at Benetti?We have under construction 15 custom and 24 Class. We can reveal that, after the advanced state of construction of the first 90-metre and the double sale of two megayachts over 100-metres, we arenow entering in the ‘Giga yacht’ market segment.
With two 100-metre plus yachts in build, how will this change the structure and growth plans for the company?Benetti faces the new challenge by investing into new operation structures and building two new outfitting hangars accommodating yachts up to 140-metres.
Obviously, at the same time, we also need to raise the skills and knowledge, and we are planning to do that by focusing on specific training for the teams dedicated to these lines. This will allow us tostrengthen our position in the gigayacht market where there are as yet, very few players.
Are there any plans for a yard in the Asian region?We have no plans to open a yard there, we aim to maintain the production in Italy.
We opened an office in Hong Kong, run by our new General Manager, Luigi Adamo and the support of a marketing person.
We are investing in technical services and yacht management, to guarantee our clients 360 days of support.
Benetti now has a few Australian owners, and currently the largest Benetti in build is for an Australian client. What are Benetti’s plans to attract more Australians to the brand?We like to be very discreet about our clients. We cannot tell you all our strategies because people will read this article – I am joking! We would like to be present in the country organising VIP events andpartnerships during some of the very special Australian events.
We have close working relationships with our local agent, Geoff Lovett, who represents us in the local market.
How does the Australian client differ from European/American’s clients?The Australian clients are very similar to Europeans even if they have a more developed practical sense. They appreciate luxury and love in detail and we Italians, we appreciate their transparency anddirect way to communicate.
How important is this Asia/Pacific region to the Benetti brand?It is very important to us, in fact we invest a specific marketing budget for that region. We have close working relationships with our local agent, Geoff Lovett. We have several agreements in Asia with anetwork of agents who support us, aiming to expand more and more our sales network, showing new products on the market. This is the basis to creating new negotiations.
You personally have taken an interest in the Chinese market. How important has it been to learn their culture and their boating needs?At the beginning, it wasn't an easy market because Chinese weren't so interested in our product because their culture is not seamanship. But with the new young generation the market has changed.
Despite this, they have an ancient culture and we want to respect it, designing yachts according to the “Dragon Fly” which reflect their standard of living and the utilisation of the yacht like a house. In anycase, the primary utilisation of a yacht for Chinese people is for business.
Has the Asian region been a difficult area to promote to?It wasn’t easy especially considering the cultural differences but, at the end of 2011 when we decided to have a dedicated Area Manager for Asia, that was in direct contact with clients and culture itbegan to be a little more simple. It still a very particular market. The Asian area is difficult in general because there are many different countries: Malaysia, India, Australia, South Korea, making themarket complex. Our intention is to gradually penetrate all those markets.
How is Benetti tailoring its marketing approach and product range to appeal to the Chinese/Asian market?We are trying to get as close as possible to their tastes and cultural uses being supported in our Hong Kong office also from a marketing assistant from China. Our products reflect the technical andtechnological characteristics for the whole world. We try to customise based on the logistics that are different in each area for the style and for the different use of the product.
With all the boat shows you attend around the world, what is your favorite and why?Monaco boat show allows you to show the best of boats over 40-metres. In addition, Americans Boat Show (Fort Lauderdale and Miami) are important from an international standpoint. We hope that soonAsia will have an international boat show since today there are many local shows for small boats.
I know it's a hard question, but what is your favorite Bennetti built to date?Probably in the future will be the one that I will build for myself after accumulating so many years of experience in constructions. I will be for sure the worst client for my team!
Do you own a yacht and if so, what is it?As I told you, I’m dreaming of one day owning my own yacht. Today I enjoy the occasional use of ours.

L’ultimo della serie 500, un 47 metri in alluminio graffiante e sportivo.
Panthera by BenettiNome in codice FB 502, ma ai più è noto con il nome di Panthera ed è laseconda unità della serie. La terza, l’FB 503, è in consegna per laprimavera del 2014. Costruito da Benetti a Livorno, è lungo 47 metri elargo meno di 9. Snello e leggero tocca i 24 nodi di massima e i 22 dicrociera con una notevole stabilità in navigazione. Lo yacht ha inoltreun’autonomia di 3.400 miglia alla velocità economica di 12 nodi. Rumoree vibrazioni sono ridotti (quasi a zero) per favorire il massimo comfortanche alle andature più rapide.
LOOK & CHIC – Veloce e molto confortevole gode di linee slanciatevalorizzate dall’uso di grandi vetrate ovali scure che contrastano con la
livrea color argento. Negli spazi esterni, le fughe del teak (tradizionalmente nere) sono state realizzate in grigio, mentre ildecor degli interni si basa su una sofisticata combinazione di diverse tonalità di grigio, in un gioco chiaro/scuro. Acatturare l’attenzione negli interni sono poi le immagini di grandi fotografi di moda appese alle pareti di tutte le zoneprincipali della barca: un tocco particolarmente glamour per un lusso degli occhi. L’armatore aveva una chiara visionedel progetto finale ed ha realizzato le sue idee con determinazione. L’intero lavoro ha puntato idealmente allasottrazione, per ottenere uno stile all’insegna della semplicità.
SI SVILUPPA SU 4 PONTI – A partire dal livello più basso troviamo illower deck che è il ponte destinato alle cabine ospiti. Qui tutte le suitesono caratterizzate da raffinati rivestimenti in mosaico Bisazza diversi traloro. Verso prua, ma con accesso separato, ci sono le quattro cabinedoppie destinate all’equipaggio. La sala macchina si trova a poppaviadella Vip, e ancora più a poppa c’è il garage, in cui sono alloggiati sia iltender che una moto d’acqua, il cui portellone aprendosi crea unameravigliosa spiaggetta di poppa di quasi dieci metri quadri attrezzabilecon sdraio, doccia e originalissimo trampolino custom.
Il main deck ha nell’area di poppavia un elegante salottino esterno chefunge da lobby d’accesso al living principale. Tessuti e lampade sonofirmate Armani Casa così come è Armani il grande tavolo pranzo dadieci persone completato da altrettante sedie B&B. Procedendo versoprua, superato il foyer principale, si trova da un lato la zona pantry,mentre dall’altro lato si accede alla cabina armatoriale, a tutto baglio,caratterizzata da un’area lounge esterna riservata.
L’upper deck ha una grande zona esterna a poppa, una seconda VIPcabin e l’alloggio del comandante vicino alla plancia. All’estrema pruauna seconda area dedicata alla vita all’aperto con enorme prendisolecentrale. La sky lounge dell’upper deck è in realtà un’attrezzatissimamedia room con fantastici divanetti del brand tedesco Tommy M ed unmaxi schermo da 46 pollici, trasformabile in discoteca con lucistroboscopiche e led RGB ed equipaggiata con un impianto stereo soundsystem di ultima generazione dotato anche di un piatto high-end perleggere dischi in vinile. Infine il Sundeck per godere di un bagno di sole acielo aperto.

Benetti My Paradise
Ο νέος παράδεισος φαίνεται ότι έχει µήκος 32,98 µέτρα, πλάτος 7,4µέτρα και τρία καταστρώµατα. Λίγοι κατασκευαστές θα µπορούσαν ναδηµιουργήσουν έναν τέτοιο παράδεισο. Οι τεχνικοί της Benetti, όµως,αντλώντας τεχνογνωσία που χρονολογείται από το 1873, το κατάφεραν,παραδίδοντας το πρώτο από τα τρία σκάφη που έχουν προγραµµατιστείσε αυτήν την κατηγορία.

Το My Paradise, όπως εύστοχα το ονόµασε ο ιδιοκτήτης του, ανήκει στησειρά της Benetti µε γάστρα εκτοπίσµατος. Ένα από τα κυριότεραχαρακτηριστικά του είναι ότι µπορεί να προωθείται από τις παραδοσιακέςµηχανές που τρέφονται µε ντίζελ αλλά και ένα ζεύγος ηλεκτροκινητήρωνπου αποδίδει 35kW εις διπλούν. Σκοπός των τεχνικών που αποφάσισαναυτόν τον υβριδικό χαρακτήρα είναι η αθόρυβη και οικονοµικήλειτουργία του σκάφους σε χαµηλές ταχύτητες, αλλά και η οικολογικήσυνείδηση που θα πρέπει να χαρακτηρίζει κάθε νέο ιδιοκτήτη µεγάλουµηχανοκίνητου.
Με την καθέλκυση του νέου σκάφους η Benetti ισχυροποιεί ακόµηπερισσότερο τη θέση της στο παγκόσµιο στερέωµα, αποκαλύπτοντας τακυριότερα σχεδιαστικά χαρακτηριστικά της νέας σειράς displacement line.
Υπεύθυνος της εξωτερικής σχεδίασης του σκάφους είναι ο StefanoRighini, ο οποίος έχει δώσει προτεραιότητα στην ευκολία της κίνησης καιστα τρία επίπεδα του σκάφους, καθώς και στο sundeck. Το sundeckαποτελεί και το κυρίαρχο χαρακτηριστικό του µοντέλου και το βασικόµήνυµα ότι προέρχεται από µια µεσογειακή χώρα. Το ανώτερο τµήµα τηςυπερκατασκευής έχει διαµορφωθεί από ελαφρά και ανθεκτικά υλικά ώστενα εξασφαλίζεται χαµηλό κέντρο βάρους και µεγαλύτερη ευστάθεια.
Η πρόσβαση προς το sundeck εξασφαλίζεται από δύο διαφορετικά σηµεία.Το πρώτο είναι εσωτερικό, προσφέροντας τη µεγαλύτερη δυνατήιδιωτικότητα στον ιδιοκτήτη και στους καλεσµένους, ενώ το δεύτερο είναιεξωτερικό, δίνοντας ελεύθερη πρόσβαση από το sundeck προς τα άλλαεπίπεδα του σκάφους. Ο χώρος περιλαµβάνει jacuzzi, τραπεζαρία 10ατόµων στο κέντρο και, φυσικά, αναπαυτικά καθίσµατα για τηναπόλαυση του ζωοδότη ήλιου.
Στο ανώτερο κατάστρωµα κυριαρχεί το αίθριο µε πανοραµικά παράθυραστις τρεις πλευρές του και µια συρόµενη πόρτα που οδηγεί σε έναεξωτερικό µπαλκόνι. Ο χώρος διαθέτει χαµάµ για χαλάρωση καιξεκούραση, ενώ από τη διάφανη οροφή του µπορεί κανείς να ατενίζει τοαπέραντο γαλάζιο του ουρανού.
Οι εσωτερικοί χώροι του σκάφους διαµορφώνονται από τα παιχνιδίσµατατου φωτός και των σκιών. Τα χωρίσµατα διατηρούν διαφορετικέςδιαστάσεις πάχους και τυχαία µοτίβα, δηµιουργώντας ένα τρισδιάστατοοπτικό παιχνίδι ανάµεσα στους εσωτερικούς και εξωτερικούς χώρους.
Ο φυσικός φωτισµός αντικαθίσταται κατά τη διάρκεια της νύχτας απόδιακριτικό φωτισµό λαµπτήρων LED, που συνεχίζουν ένα ονειρικόπαιχνίδι σκιών και αντανακλάσεων σε όλο τον εσωτερικό χώρο.
Πάνω στο σκάφος ο ιδιοκτήτης έχει τον κύριο λόγο για την επιλογή τηςεπίπλωσης, τη διαµόρφωση και τα υλικά επένδυσης του εσωτερικούχώρου. Αυτή είναι και η αιτία που το My Paradise έχει µια εντυπωσιακήεσωτερική διακόσµηση σύµφωνα µε τις προτιµήσεις και το γούστο τουιδιοκτήτη του.
Για παράδειγµα ο χώρος που προορίζεται για την τραπεζαρία έχειενσωµατωθεί µε το σαλόνι, δηµιουργώντας έναν ενιαίο χώρο πουπεριλαµβάνει καθιστικό και µπαρ. Ο χώρος λούζεται από φυσικό φωςκατά τη διάρκεια της ηµέρας χάρη στα παράθυρα που εκτείνονται σε όλοτο ύψος των πλαϊνών τοιχωµάτων. Οι σχεδιαστές του σκάφους κράτησαντη θέα των παραθύρων ανεπηρέαστη από την υπόλοιπη υπερκατασκευή,έτσι ώστε να εξασφαλίζεται η πανοραµική θέα από το εσωτερικό.
Άλλη ουσιαστική επέµβαση του ιδιοκτήτη είναι η τοποθέτηση τηςτραπεζαρίας του πληρώµατος στο κύριο κατάστρωµα, αφήνοντας τονπροβλεπόµενο χώρο στο κατώτερο κατάστρωµα ελεύθερο για τηνεγκατάσταση ενός µεγάλου ψυγείου.
Το σκάφος µπορεί να φιλοξενήσει 12 καλεσµένους. Στο κατώτεροκατάστρωµα υπάρχουν τέσσερις σουίτες VIP. Το διαµέρισµα τουιδιοκτήτη είναι τοποθετηµένο στο κύριο κατάστρωµα και, φυσικά,καταλαµβάνει όλο το διαθέσιµο πλάτος του σκάφους. Εντυπωσιακά είναιτα µπάνια, όπου έχουν επιλεγεί οι ίδιες διαδραστικές επιφάνειες µε άνισεςκατανοµές και παιχνιδίσµατα από λαµπτήρες LED.
Σηµαντικές καινοτοµίες κυριαρχούν και στο χώρο του µηχανοστασίου. Τουβριδικό σύστηµα δεν συνδέεται µόνο µε την πρόωση του σκάφους αλλάαποτελεί την κύρια πηγή ενέργειας για όλες τις λειτουργίες του. Τοσκάφος βασισµένο µόνο στους δύο ηλεκτροκινητήρες µπορεί να πλέει µεταχύτητα 6 κόµβων, εξασφαλίζοντας αθόρυβη λειτουργία και µηδενικόεπίπεδο κραδασµών πέρα από τη µηδενική εκποµπή ανεπιθύµητωνρύπων. Το νέο διαµάντι της Benetti, που όλοι περίµεναν µε ανυποµονησία,παρουσιάστηκε στο ναυτικό φεστιβάλ στις Κάννες, πουπραγµατοποιήθηκε από τις 9 έως τις 14 Σεπτεµβρίου.

Benetti sjösätter 60 m superyacht M/Y Formosa

Här är den allra senaste superyachten från Benetti. Det är den 60 m långa FB255 M/Y Formosa, såld 2012 av FraserYachts och sjösatt enligt plan 4 december i år i Livorno i Italien.
Benetti, som grundades 1873, är välkända över hela världen för sina motor- och segelyachter i högsta internationella klass.
Den här båten är byggd i stål och aluminium. För den moderna designen svarar Benettis egna designers. Superyachten har fem däck, en bredd på 10,6m och en total volym på 1 060 ton.

Layouten och designen för alla gästutrymmen är gjord av Sinot Design Studio i nära samarbete med ägaren. Layouten omfattar bland annat fem sviterför upp till tio gäster. Ägaren själv har ett helt däck med en egen ”våning” till sitt förfogande. Båten hanteras med en besättning på kapten och 14besättningsmän.
Motoriseringen i M/Y Formosa FB255 är två stycken MTU 12V4000 M53 dieselmotorer för framdriften. De ger vardera 1 380 kWh vid 1 800 rpm.FB255 har därmed en toppfart på 16 knop och en marschfart på 15 knop. Mest ekonomisk marschfart är 12 knop, då yachten har en räckvidd på 5 000Nm.

After unveiling this world-class attraction at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show, Benetti hasreleased more information on the brand-new Illusion V (ex Illusion I) alongside a number ofstunning photos. This 58 metre motor yacht boasts a precision layout with style, space andstaying power which places this yacht amongst the elite of the global superyacht fleet.
Illusion V, whose external design is the beautiful result of the Benettidesign team with considerable input from the Owner and his designstaff, has four decks plus a sun-deck. This superyacht is perfectlypoised for both private use and commercial charter - represented byCamper & Nicholsons - thanks to a layout which includes one VIPand four guest cabins in addition to the owner’s cabin, giving her atotal capacity of up to 13 passengers.
The Lower deck is given over to the guests. Aft, those on board canfind a beach area with an ample bar zone and a stylish finish: herethe Owner wanted to have the same level of decor as found in theguest areas. The beach area is distinctly separate from the garage,which opens laterally for launching and recovering the tender andthe two jet skis. There is also generous room in the garage forwetsuits and diving gear.
Moving forward, beyond the engine rooms, we enter the VIP cabin.Located amidships, the cabin takes full advantage of almost elevenmeters of beam. The spectacular bathroom is placed parallel to thevessels side, offering a priceless view. Then we have the other guestcabins, each obviously with a private bathroom: three twins (onewith a third pullman bunk) and one double. On the same deck, butcompletely separate, we have the crew quarters, with four singlecrew cabins and a double for the chief engineer, each with its ownbathroom. There is separate access to all decks from the crewquarters, guaranteeing maximum privacy for the guests andincreasing the crews efficiency in service.
The Main Deck cockpit, the first area to be found when comingaboard, is very spacious. A large c-shaped sofa with twin coffeetable and comfortable lounge chairs has its own complete cornerbar. The main salon is dominated by the Owners refreshing choice oflocating the dinner table for ten next to the entryway: it is entirelydedicated to entertainment. And thanks to the aft location of the airvents, the area is very spacious and bright – the walls are fully inglass and fill the room with a splendid natural light. And for evenmore light, on deck the gunwales in front of the windows have beenlowered to view the sea from inside and literally inundate the salonwith light. Main salon is furnished with three large sofas, supplied bythe Owner, along with a low table and a retractable wide screen TV.From forward, the bar overlooks it all.
The owners interior designer, in collaboration with the Benetti designoffice, personally chose the style of furnishings and décor, with adominant theme of Rose, while the choice and combination of thematerials used is quite special. Travertine, wood, and several kindsof marble alternate with other more unusual materials: ray-skin,coco or slivers of mother of pearl.

In the guest area all the walls are covered with black walnut panels,with a special design: to augment contrast and movement, thewalnut panels are alternated with parchment covered panels. Theparchment is very difficult to work with, but the yards artisansmanaged to completely satisfy the owner’s needs and the grainevident in the chosen materials creates a very suggestive contrast.The Lalique crystal insets add yet another touch of elegance, andreflect the natural lighting. The ivory leather ceilings complete theeffect of space and light.
Another notable element on board is the complete silence. Noise andvibration reduction throughout the yacht was a specific requestmade by the Owner, and the Benetti technicians, together with aDanish company specialized in noise reduction, succeededadmirably. This is why everything is double sealed and there iscarpet in the crew area.

The latest from the Benetti yards is the 60-meter FB255 M/Y Formosa, sold in 2012 by Fraser Yachts, and launched on schedule the 4th of this month at Livorno.
The steel and aluminium super yacht, whose exterior styling and lines were all drawn in house at Benetti, has five decks, a beam of 10.6 meters and a total volume of 1,060 gross tons.
The interior layout and design of the guest’s area were created by the Sinot Design Studio, in close collaboration with the owner. The layout is articulated in five suites for up to ten guests, and setsaside one whole deck for the owner’s apartments. The captain plus a crew of 14 is available to see to all the guest’s needs.
M/Y Formosa FB255 – powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines, developing 1,380 kwh at 1,800 rpm, the FB255 has a maximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. At thefuel saving speed of 12 knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.

The steel and aluminium superyacht, which was designed and engineered by the in-house Benetti team, has five decks, a beam of 10.6m and a totalvolume of 1,060GT.

The layout is comprised of five suites for up to 10 guests, with a private deck set aside for the owner's quarters. fifteen crew are also accommodated onboard.

Thelayout is articulated in five suites for up to ten guests, and sets asideone whole deck for the owner's apartments. The captain plus a crewof 14 is available to see to all the guest's needs.
The FB255 Formosa, which is powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53engines, developing 1,380 kwh at 1,800 rpm, the FB255 has amaximum speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. Atthe fuel saving speed of 12 knots, her range is 5,000 nautical miles.

Formosa, Benetti’s Newest 60-Meter MegayachtDECEMBER 15, 2014 BY MEGAYACHT NEWS STAFF
The first week of this month saw the launch of Formosa at Benetti’s facility in Livorno, Italy.
The 197-foot (60-meter) megayacht is styled much the same as previous same-size launches by the builder, since she
bears an in-house design.
The 34’8” (10.6-meter) beam and 1,060-ton displacement (remember, a measurement of volume) should make for
comfortable guest areas, all designed by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. Benetti has not revealed details on the decor,
but Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design is known for a clean, uncluttered aesthetic. A few details are known about the general
arrangement, however. It doesn’t entirely follow tradition aboard Formosa, as per the owner’s wishes. The master
suite, for example, which Benetti refers to as “apartments,” is on an upper deck of the five-deck Formosa. Two of the
five guest staterooms are on the main deck, with the rest on the lower deck. The 14 crew should be housed below
decks, too; the captain’s cabin may be in the typical area aft of the wheelhouse.
No word on whether Formosa, which should cruise at 15 knots and see 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots under MTU
power, will be used privately or charter.
Incidentally, “formosa” means “beautiful” in Portuguese and once was also the name for Taiwan. Whether related or
not, the owner of Formosa hails from Asia.

With the Tradition Supreme 108, Benetti offers buyers of so-called small megayachts bigger-yacht features. The
primary advantage is a trideck configuration, unheard of for a 108’2” (32.98-meter) LOA. The second advantage is the
ability to personalize the layouts of each deck, beyond wall coverings and furnishings. The first in the series, My
Paradis, makes the most of both.

Most 108-footers rise two decks high. The ability to have a full skylounge aboard surely impressed the owner of My
Paradis, the first Benetti Tradition Supreme 108. A bar forward to port makes the room ideal for cocktails.
Conversations flow easily from the table and seating arrangements (there are two) and the settee taking up much of
the opposite side. The guests and captain can each enjoy some privacy thanks to the helm being down a few steps, not
open to this area.
Most of the main deck aboard My Paradis is devoted to the saloon. The large windows combine with light- and dark-
stained oak, plus LEDs, for dramatic effect. The drama is even greater where panes of nearly full-height glass are
situated to each side, complemented by lowered bulwarks. The trend of using floor-to-ceiling glass has thus far been
popular among larger megayachts. It’s also interesting to note that the saloon doesn’t flow into a dining area. The
owner eschewed the traditional formal dining area on this deck in favor of having it on the sundeck.
Something else the owner of My Paradis requested that’s rare to see in this LOA: a sauna. You’d probably expect to find
it on the lower deck, or perhaps off the tender garage. Instead, it’s on the same level as the skylounge. It features a
skylight, from the sundeck (accessible via the stairs you see here).

Just as is the case below decks, the sundeck allows a flexible layout. That’s because Benetti doesn’t have molded-in
seating or other structures, besides the carbon fiber hardtop and extra helm, the latter a few steps down from the
relaxation areas. My Paradis has loose lounges aft of the hot tub and the primary dining are forward of it. Other buyers
might want to stow extra toys up here, complementing the tender garage.

Benetti Yachts just launched their latest superyacht, the former FB255 now called"Formosa". This yacht was sold to her owner in 2012 right after the Hainan Boat Show.Benetti has had a great year so far with the launching of yachts from their superyachtportfolio. "Illusion V" which debuted at Monaco Yacht Show was launched in August, 50-meter hull 801 expected to be called "Vica" was launched just last month, now the 60-meterFB255 Formosa and still the 62-meter hull 264.
Formosa is a displacement superyacht with an anticipated top speed of 15-knots with hertwin MTU 12V 4000 M53s. She has ocean-crossing range and can run for about 5,000nautical miles if sailed economically conserving the fuel in her 130,000 LT tanks. The first Benetti Tradition Supreme 108 displacement motoryacht has beencustomized for quiet, elegant cruising.

Nobody does semi-custom quite like Benetti. Since the late ’90s, when the first Classic 115showed that you could have your own personalized superyacht without having to wait threeyears for it, the Viareggio shipyard has been kept busy building innovative, conservativelystyled, displacement fiberglass motoryachts in an ever-increasing range of sizes.
The latest development of the Tradition line, embodied in the 108-foot (32.9-meter) TraditionSupreme, has a distinctive profile, with a carbon-fiber radar arch and hardtop, and a fully extendedsundeck, which not only adds relaxation space but also shelters the upper deck more effectively thanon the 100 and 105 Tradition designs.
The first 108 was built for an experienced owner. His previous yacht was a Benetti—a 100-foot (30.4-meter) Tradition built in 2006—but he can trace his boat ownership back to his childhood on thebeautiful lakes of Lombardy in northern Italy. He knows exactly how his new charge will be used.
“The yacht will be based in Italy and southern France, the places we know the best and love themost—really some of the most beautiful places on earth,” he said. “We are very attached to the Italianislands. We have been visiting them for many years now.”

Unusually, he is also an owner-captain. The family does hire crew, but not a full complement,preferring to take on most tasks themselves, and Benetti has customized the yacht according to manyof their individual ideas and requirements. There is a Turkish bath on the upper deck, for example.And with no formal dining table on the main deck, making the salon feel vast, most meals will betaken while enjoying the views from the upper salon, served from the galley below by dumbwaiter.

While the Tradition’s exterior styling comes unmistakably from the pen of Stefano Righini, theinterior of this first 108 was designed by the shipyard studio under the owner’s direction. She’s beenfitted out with attractive mosaic tiling in the showers contrasting with pale striped marble, forexample, and heavily grained, limed oak used on the bulkheads offset by areas of darker veneers andbrightened by a multitude of colorful fabrics. Cutaway bulwarks match the main-deck windowshapes, and maximize both daylight and spectacular views in the salon and owner’s suite.Longitudinal overhead lighting is found throughout the main deck.

Apart from the owner’s changes to the salon, the yacht is built according to Benetti’s standard layoutwith four ensuite guest cabins down below, in addition to the owner’s suite on the main deck and sixcrew berths in three cabins forward. The full sections of a displacement hull help to give the interiorspaces pleasingly comfortable proportions, along with plenty of useful stowage in the sleeping areas,full-size beds and a minimum of 6-foot-4-inch headroom everywhere. Displacement yachts are alsoless subject to the tyranny of weight than their faster counterparts, and the 108’s interior fit-out has areassuring solidity.

The owner’s customized interior décor fades into insignificance compared with what he asked theshipyard to do in the engineroom. Benetti describes this first 108 as a hybrid, although not in the sensethat she has vast battery capacity and a zero-emissions mode. This is a traditional displacement yachtwith a traditional twin-diesel power plant, supplemented by—you guessed it—a “traditional” diesel-electric propulsion system: two electric motors powered by two diesel generators.
With her slippery, round-bilge underwater shape, the Benetti 108 would be well-suited to diesel-electric as her sole propulsion system, but the advantages of fitting both diesel and diesel-electric arenot immediately obvious. It sounds complicated and expensive, and it is. This is a yacht with fourdiesel engines and two electric motors, plus gearboxes capable of dealing with both power sources.The big 80-kilowatt generators fitted are run by modern 4.5-liter John Deere engines, and with both ofthose powered up and both 35-kilowatt electric motors engaged, we recorded a maximum speed of 5.5knots while burning about 10½ gallons per hour. You could probably do better than that by reducingthe demand on the generators—we had stabilizers, TV, a/c and lights on—but it’s a “real world” ideaof the 108’s electric performance.
The real advantage of the diesel-electric system is its quietness, although even under conventionalpower, the 108 proved to be a surprisingly silent operator. At full speed on the main engines we couldnot only hear the air conditioning in the wheelhouse, but also, surprisingly, the soft hum of a batterycharger in one of the lockers. Having switched those off, we recorded a remarkably low 58 decibels inthe wheelhouse, which is lower than normal conversation levels. But then we switched the mainengines off and transferred to electric power. The sound meter’s needle dropped to a barely registrable47 decibels. My laptop is louder than that. While on a walk-through of all the accommodation areas,on both the main and lower decks, the needle never flicked above 50 decibels.

It’s quite extraordinary, but it’s exactly the effect the owner wanted and expected.
“Hybrid propulsion allows for completely silent sailing whenever there’s the need to travel withouthaste—lengthy deliveries, relaxed coastwise cruising where you want to enjoy the panorama,night-time sailing,” he explained.
Using the yacht in electric mode, particularly at night under the stars, promises the sort ofunforgettable passagemaking experience hitherto only possible on a sailboat whispering along on azephyr of breeze.
The owner’s family had a relaxed first cruise on their new yacht before the fall boat shows, breakingher in gently.
“We spent our first season relaxing in Sardinia, without stressing the yacht,” the owner explained,before turning his thoughts to the future. It seems they’ll go east next summer and head for the classiccruising grounds of Greece and Turkey. After that, things look set to get even more adventurous withsome challenging passagemaking on the agenda, all the way up to northern Europe.
“Let’s hope that our dreams can soon become reality,” he said, before admitting ruefully, “We have towork, too.”

İTALYAN BENETTI FB 255FORMOSA'YI DENIZE INDIRDIİtalya’nın önde gelen yat üretim tersanelerinden olan Benetti tarafından üretilen 60 metreuzunluğundaki FB255 gövdeli Formasa denize indirildi.06 Aralık 2014 Cumartesi 16:48İtalyan Benetti Yachts 60 metre uzunluğundaki FB 255 Formosa megayatını denize indirdi. Monako’dakiFraser Yachts’tan Jan Jaap Minnema tarafından, 2012 yılının ilkbaharında satışı yapılan Benetti project FB255’in üretim süreci tamamlanarak, denize indirildi.
60 metre uzunluğundaki Benetti FB255’e Formosa ismi verildi. Fraser Yachts’tan Jan Jaap Minnema,
Benetti’nin üretim sürecinin planlandığı şekilde tamamlandığı, imalatın sorunsuz bir şekilde gerçekleştiğini
söyledi.
İtalya’nın önde gelen yat üretim tersanelerinden olan Benetti tarafından üretilen FB255 gövdeliFormasa'nın tasarımını Benetti tasarım ofisi yaparken,iç tasarımını ise Sinot Exclusive Yacht Designfirması gerçekleştirdi.
60 metre uzunluğundaki Benetti FB255 Formosa’da 12 konuk ağırlanabilecek. Geniş üst güvertenin önbölümünde yat sahibine ait bir master kamara bulunurken, ana güvertede iki adet VIP kamara, altgüvertede de 3 konuk kamarası yer alacak. Süperyatın köprü üstünde geniş bir havuzunun yanı sıra,kaptan kabini ve bir de ofis olarak kullanılacak olan sekreter kabini yer alıyor.
Benetti FB 255 Formosa çelik gövdeli ve alüminyum yapıya sahip. İki adet MTU 12V 4000 M53 dizel motor
ile donatılan Formosa'nın seyir hızı 15 knot, genişliği 10,60 cm ve maksimum su kesimi ise 3,37 cm.

The 15th Azimut/Benetti Yachtmaster event

Azimut/Benetti's popular annual captain event is celebrating it's 15th edition in 2015, and promises tobe bigger than ever. This year's edition will take place in Tuscany at the Spa Boutique Terme Saturnia,from February 4th – 6th. 150 guests have been invited to participate, with intensive workshops andconferences on superyacht management as part of the program.
Azimut Benetti have added two new additions to the 2015 event:
The Captains’ Perspective – Several captains will take the stage in real-time interviews. They will go throughtheir experiences during all project phases, including negotiations, construction, cruising, etc. They will interactwith the audience and all participants can exchange their experiences.
Professional Workshops – Participants will be divided into six sections with about 15 members each. Theparticipants themselves choose the topics of their workshops before the event. Each workshop will be lead by aprofessional moderator.
The event will be accompanied by social events, as well as team building activities.
SuperYachtTimes.com will be a media partner for the event, so expect additional coverage from Tuscany inFebruary.

IBI announces today it will be reporting from the 15th Azimut | Benetti Yachtmasterevent along with its sister title Superyacht Business in the capacity of official mediapartner.
The annual event, now celebrating its 15th year, involves three days of workshops andsocialising for Azimut Benetti superyachts captains, and runs from 4th to 6th February2015.
The Azimut | Benetti Group has always invested heavily in the captains and projectmanagers of its yachts and a new “Year-long Yachtmaster” project will keep thecommunity in constant communication before and after the event, also throughworkshops and training sessions on professionally relevant topics. The Group hasalways been attentive to the needs and skills of those who participate towards thesuccess of its vessels during all phases of the project life-cycle (from negotiation tobuild and delivery, but primarily during the owner’s enjoyment) and their contribution tomaintaining the brand’s worldwide reputation for excellence.
This year’s Yachtmaster event will take place in Tuscany at the Spa Boutique TermeSaturnia. The hotel, surrounded by the Tuscan hills, will play host to 150 participants,with intensive workshops and conferences on the many challenges that superyachtmanagement poses.

The annual event, now celebrating its 15th year, involvesthree days of workshops and socialising for Azimut Benettisuperyachts captains, and runs from 4th to 6th February2015.
The Azimut | Benetti Group has always invested heavily inthe captains and project managers of its yachts and a new “Year-long Yachtmaster” project will keep thecommunity in constant communication before and after the event, also through workshops and trainingsessions on professionally relevant topics. The Group has always been attentive to the needs and skills ofthose who participate towards the success of its vessels during all phases of the project life-cycle (fromnegotiation to build and delivery, but primarily during the ownerʼs enjoyment) and their contribution tomaintaining the brandʼs worldwide reputation for excellence.
