Surrealism is a movement which occurred during the late 1910’s and the early 1920’s. It was a period in which artists used surreal objects to create paintings.
Artists would deform shapes and the look of objects to make a dreamlike painting.
The paintings would be made to look as real as possible by having detail, light and shadows.
How Surrealism Occurred
Surrealism was influenced by combined elements of Dada and cubism, to create something never seen before in the art world.At first the movement was rejected but then soon its unique was made its way into the art industry.
