Morning Message!Dear Super 1st Graders

Good morning,! Today is Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today is our Art and Library day. Today you will write a poem about your mom! In Social Studies, you will learn a little more about Cinco de Mayo. For Art you can go to Mrs. Marino’s website and she will show you steps on how to draw a robot! Click on Library Class to see what’s happening there with Mrs. Dragone! Tomorrow we will have another live Google Meet at 9:45. We hope to see you all there. Have a terrific Tuesday!

LET’S READ AND WRITE!

This week’s writing is dedicated to our Moms. They are pretty amazing and do so much for

us! Today write a Mother’s Day poem for mom! Use this paper or any paper you have!

We will compare mom to things that are:

● Pretty

● Sweet

● Smart

● Special

Be creative and make mom a poem that will show her your love! Decorate it when you are done!

Today I want to teach you that when you are reading, it’s important to keep up with the story. During a reading adventure, readers go on mini-adventures along the way, and it’s important to pay attention to WHERE and WHEN the story is happening.

Mrs. Toto will show us how to practice keeping track of the setting with Iris and Walter and the Field Trip.

When I took a sneak peek, I knew I’d go to the aquarium and take a bus ride on this adventure, but let’s make sure we keep track of exactly where and when each part of the story takes place.
