Honors Program

The Honors Program provides students exciting challenges and engaging experiences to reach beyond the classroom. Students have a multitude of opportunities to excel and embark on intellectual and international travel with other students who want the best from their college education. In small innovative classes, you will discuss new ideas and great books, exploring topics like HIV/AIDS, nanotechnology, race and racism, and the music and culture of Bali. Through the Honors Program, you will grow intellectually, learn with other top students, prepare for solid careers and graduate school, or develop your hidden talents and abilities.

Register for the classes you want when you want them.• Exclusive scholarships. • An Honors House where you can live and work with other honors students.• The option of honors floors in residence halls. First-year Honors Program applicants need one of the following: a composite ACT score of 28, a combined math and critical reading SAT score of 1240, or an unweighted high school GPA of 3.7. Transfer student applicants need to have at least four semesters left prior to graduation and have a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or better.

Come explore UW’s new state-of-the-art welcome center, designed to support students throughout their lives. The Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center will open in late October 2014 and will feature interactive exhibits and displays about the university.
