Intention to apply for Year 7 Entry to a selective

high school in 2019.

Selective high schools cater for high achieving academically gifted students who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic and social level.

These schools help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them with other gifted and talented students, teaching them in specialised ways and providing educational materials at the appropriate level.

Applications for selective high school placement are considered mainly on the basis of the Selective High School Placement Test results and school assessment scores. The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 15 March 2018.

If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2019, you need to apply soon. You will need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the student’s email address).

Detailed instructions on how to apply online will be available from 10 October 2017 in a printed application information booklet and at https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity- classes/year-7.

The application website opens at https://education.nsw.gov.au/selective-high-schools-and- opportunity-classes/year-7 on 10 October 2017 and closes on 13 November 2017.

You must apply before the closing date.

2017 Annual School Report Satisfaction Survey

Dear Parents

The range of evaluations the school undertakes each year is underway. One of the evaluations that we have to complete is a Satisfaction Survey. This is a requirement of the Commonwealth Government. The results of all these evaluations will be published in the Annual School Report.

The Satisfaction Survey has been designed to cover a number of areas – school environment, student welfare, school uniform, technology, service and communication. The survey is printed on the back of this letter.

This survey is for parents to complete. Students will be given separate surveys designed specifically for children. Students will complete their surveys at school.

It would be appreciated if the completed survey could be returned to school by Friday, 17 November 2017.

Thank you for your anticipated support with this survey. I look forward to sharing the results with you.

Yours sincerely,

Alison Fittler Principal 27 October 2017
