classical music magazine deconstruction (front cover)
TRANSCRIPT
For my main task, which is to create a
music magazine, I have chosen to create a
classical music magazine. So, what I have
done, in this presentation, is deconstructed
the front cover of a classical music
magazines as part of my research to help
with my music magazine.
Large main title to clearly
show the name of the
magazine, also part of the title
where it says ‘music’ is on the
side and is rotated, this is an
effect used to emphasise the
main idea of the magazine,
because although it is about
music, that’s just type of
magazine, the word classical
is deemed more important as
that the genre
The main story of the magazine
is in large bold writing, this then
hep the readers notice the fact
that that is the main story of that
particular issue, an this therefore
makes them want to see the
inside of the magazine and they
would like to see what the largest
story title is all about.
The main image is
particularly focused on this
man due to the fact he is
the main story of the
magazine, its placed next
to his name which is the
main title of the magazine.
The image also contains a
violin which shows his
profession and ties in with
that whole idea of a
classical magazine.
Like all magazines the front
cover contains a bar code,
out of the way but still easy
to see so people can find out
what the price is and also
helps shop keepers out as
well.
The image is also quite grey and
this gives it a bit of a mysterious
effect to it, in contrast to this, if it
was bright it wouldn’t have the
same effect to it.
Also in terms of the model
himself, the eye contact of the
model helps catch the eyes of the
audience helping the audience
look at the model right away,
making it the main focus of the
cover.
The text underneath the main
title is a short briefing of what
the title is about, making the
audience want to look inside
and read what the story is fully
about.
