Product DescriptionProtecto Wrap's 200 & 200GT pipetapes are cold applied pipe wraps thatcan be used on all types and sizes ofpipe applications for protection againstmoisture and corrosion and can behand applied using either a spiral orcigarette wrap technique.

200 & 200GT tapes are manufacturedfrom a formulation of premium gradearomatic bituminous resins modified

    with synthetic resins.

A special high strength film is bondedto the outer surface of the tapes whichprovides exceptional mechanicalstrength, easy handling, abrasionresistance to rough soil or aggregateparticles.

()A backing separator sheet removeseasily, keeps the bonding surface freshand is removed during application foreasier handling.

Protecto Wrap's 200GT pipe tape isreinforced with an inert reinforcingmaterial for extra mechanical strengthand for applications where extraprotection against abrasion isrequired.

200 & 200GT pipe wraps can beapplied over a wide temperature rangefrom 30°F to 160°F maki ng theseproducts ideal for almost any type ofpipe wrap under most temperature andclimatic conditions.

Application Procedures1. Clean the pipe surface to be

wrapped of all dirt, rust andforeign elements by the normalwire brush method.

    2. Remove about 2" of kraft paperfrom each end of the mill or yardcoating.

    3. Apply Protecto Wrap primer to thecleaned surface with a paint brushand about 2" back on each end ofthe factory coating.

    4. Remove the backing separatorfrom the tape for about 6"; whenthe primer becomes tack free, begin the spiral wrap with thefilm covered side of the tape up.

    5. Remove and discard thebacking separator from the tapeas you wrap.

    6. Use only enough pull on the tapeto conform it properly to irregularsurfaces of the pipe or fitting.

    7. When the end of the wrap isreached, release all pull on thetape, cut the tape and if desiredprime the end with ProtectoWrap primer. Smooth the endinto place over the previous lap.

    8. Lightly press overlap seams toinsure a firm contact and bond.

    9. When using a cigarette wrap for200 & 200GT tape, follow allinstructions above and brush thetack side of the tape lightly withProtecto Wrap primer where itforms a seam, smoothing it downwith your hand.

    10. When wrapping pipe to be jackedor pushed under crossings, always start and end joint withtape at a 90° angle to the pipeand use a minimum of primer atthe overlap seam.
