Show U R GreenThis year the BIndoon and Districts Agricultural Show is going green and our aim is to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

With your help, we will:Reduce plastic consumption and Reuse by:• Bringing your own water bottle, coffee mug and

bag and using the water bottle refill stations.• Offering stallholders the option to use free,

reusable, compostable and recyclable packaging for your shopping and food (bags, cups, plates, cutlery and napkins). Give stallholders who use them a pat on the back.

Recycle as much as possible by having stations with 3 bins for:1. Food waste to be composted.2. Recycling to go to a facility for reprocessing into

new resources.3. Rubbish to go to landfill to be buried.

Let’s work together to care for our environment and reduce waste sent to landfill!

Enjoy the free activities and entertainment at the Show including the funky Junkadelic Brass Band and fun loving Eco Faeries.

The Show U R Green project is funded by the Waste Authority through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Account.

• Free gardening and recycling activities with Thrive Sustainability – in the

Entertainment Pavillion

• Free animal farm - pat the baby animals – at the front of Chinkabee

• Free Inflatables! Bounce the day away on inflatable fun including slides and castles for all

From budding flowers and clusters of compost comes the Eco Faeries with two sensational high-energy and educational shows filled with original songs that will have children and grownups wriggling like willy wag tails. With silly faerie antics you’ll have a magical time and learn a thing or two too.

These enchanting faeries will also be wandering around the Show bringing a swirl of magic on their path, creating little clusters of gatherings. Their basket is filled with eco-friendly activities to do craft, grant wishes and tell stories. They believe even the smallest of folk can make a big difference!

Program

Talent ShowSit back and enjoy your lunch while kids aged up to 16 years showcase their range of talents. There’s sure to be many singers, dancers, musi-cians and more vying for the judges’ votes. Be entertained by this regular feature of the Show.

The Junkadelic Brass Band is a band like no other. It breaks away from wasteful trends by re-envisaging “Junk” as a resource for making instruments and applying it in a form of “Edu-tainment”, showing what is possible with a little imagination.

The funky band combines a smoking hot 6-piece brass section with hard-hitting recycled percussion to bring a blend of street rhythms. Taking inspiration from traditional New Orleans street music, Junkadelic combines tasty funk grooves with latin and hip-hop flavours to get the crowd up and dancing. Vocals round out the band’s explosive original compositions and unique interpretations of high-energy classics to create brass band music with a bend in it.

Junkadelic will perform two shows, lead the parade and will be roaming the Show.

Junkadelic

EzereveEnjoy the live tunes of solo acoustic singer and guitarist Ezereve while eating your din-ner. She is an experi-enced, gifted musician who has been singing and playing the guitar for over 20 years and is passionate about making a difference through music.

DanceRoxanne’s Dance WorkshopThere will be 4 dances performed by the troupe from Roxanne’s Dance Workshop. Established in 1998, Roxanne’s dancers have been a popular feature at the Show for many years. Watch the local Tinies, Juniors and Intermediates show you how much they love dancing as they perform their routines.

Pirateman Michael’s non-verbal pirate adventure circus show will be full of laughs, tricks, puppets and ARRRs for the whole family. He will also be seen around the Show displaying a range of talents and tricks. Contact juggling, Buugeng, toroflux, club/ball juggling, Octo-poi, story cubes, shape shifting hermit crabs… what arrr all these doohickey’s? There is only one way to find out, see them live in action!

There will also be take-home upcycling craft for the kids ranging from treasure map making, turning trash into treasure chests and more fantasy-based themes. Children learn the values of how one man’s trash is another pirate’s treasure!

At sundown watch Pirateman Michael’s hypnotic and mesmerising LED light show including Buugeng, twin staff, poi manipulation as well as a bit of LED juggling and magic.

Then just before the fireworks, his extravagant and exhilarating display of skill, danger and silliness! A progressive fire show including fire contact juggling, fire illusions and mighty flaming swords just to name a few tools!

Pirateman Michael

DJ Rev CB Back by popular demand, DJ Rev CB along with dance teacher Faye Makin will be based in the Entertainment Marquee all day and night. They have a knack for getting ‘volunteers’ involved in a spontaneous performance act and young and old on their feet at the evening disco.

The Border Leicester Merino cross ewe could be classed as a cornerstone of the sheep meat industry in Australia.

The Faircloughs of Stockdale Stud York are displaying Poll Dorsets and White Suffolks, Laurie Fairclough has won many Ribbons not only in the sheep classes but also the Champion Carcass at this year’s Royal Show.

These are just a few examples of the breeds that will be there so come and talk to the breeders. They will be happy to show you the features of their sheep and share a yarn on how Australia is riding on the Sheeps’ back again!
