Keith’s disability is related to a serious brain malformation that left him with intellectual disabilities such as cerebral palsy, vision and hearing concerns, epilepsy and frequent aspiration pneumonia, temperature regularity, seizure disorder, frequent suctioning, shunt in place and the loss of movement. He frequently requires home-based IV antibiotic treatment every 6 hours for respiratory infections, he is also on supplemental Oxygen therapy via nasal cannula 24/7. Keith does not attend a program or school due to his disability, He is in need of a wheelchair van to improve the quality of care and transportation to and from the Doctors and hospital. We currently lift him in and out of the car when we go out to the Dr’s, hospital or any outings. Keith’s current weight is 88 lbs, and his chair that we lift in and out of the car is 120 lbs. We have 2 other children, a boy who is 10 and a girl who is 16, they help us out a lot when it comes to their brother, sometimes we have to take one of them with us on Keith’s DR apt to help with suctioning him when he needs it or help carry his Oxygen into the apt. We try to make their lives as normal as possible with activities and everyday life, but it’s not easy for any of us. Keith is always keeping us on our toes, we thank the lord and we cherish every day we have to spend with him. CALLING ALL MENTORS!CAPITAL DISTRICT - I am I can is a 501(c)3 organization that was created to mentor girls in grades 9 - 12. Programs pro-vide needed encouragement, guidance and advocacy to students as they navigate their high school years and move toward post-graduation goals. You will help the student to de-velop core values and “encourage young women to discover their dreams, to believe in endless possibilities while empow-ering them to make it happen”. The organization is currently looking for mentors in the Clifton Park to Glens Falls areas. Immediate needs are to support girls in Hudson Falls, South Glens Fall, Glens Falls, Shenendehowa, and Ballston Spa school districts. Topaz

One of our Southern rescue coordinator’s took these pups from a home on the side of the railroad track.

They are helping the owner get the Mom spayed and

we got the beautiful pups. They are about 9-10 weeks

old and have had first shots, wormed and have

been vet checked.

These are some very cute little babies. They are

about 10 weeks old and have come from a high kill shelter in the South. They have had their first set of shots, wormed, and have

been vet checked.

This beautiful girl was most likely part of a TNR program. She lost her home when her mother developed cancer. She is a LOVE!!! What a pet she is!! Topaz is about 6 years old, spayed,

up to date on shots and ready to find a forever home.

DID YOU KNOW? According to the 2013-14 PayScale Salary Survey, which examines salary data for full-time employees in the United States who possess only bachelor’s degrees but no higher degree, petroleum engineering is the most lucrative major with regard to salary potential. Petroleum engineers earned an average annual starting salary of $103,000, and those salaries ballooned to $160,000 by mid-career, when typical graduates in the study had 15 years of experience in their fi elds. Though engineering majors dominated the survey’s top 10, second place on the list went to actuarial mathemat-ics majors, whose average starting salaries of $58,700 were more modest than those of petroleum engineers. However, by mid-career actual mathematics majors closed much of that gap, with average salaries hovering at $120,000.

Father’s Day has been cel-ebrated in one form or an-other since the beginning of the nineteenth century. Per-haps the most driving force behind Father’s Day was Senora Dodd, who thought of the idea of a day to honor fathers while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, Dodd wanted to honor the sacrifi ces that fathers make. Father’s Day was not formally considered a holiday until 1972, when a Congressional Act offi cially designated the third Sunday in June Father’s Day.
