Quarter 3 - 2015 highlights – A message from the President

In the Q2 Founders’ Talk I stated my intention to refocus on growing the LEO business and to continue to build the

business. Since then Geraldine, Atif and I

have presented Discover LEO in Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Dubai, Kuwait, Pakistan, Sweden, Russia and the Philippines.

We have all been impressed by the support provided by our Leaders, and the sheer number of people who want to come and hear us. I am humbled by their enthusiasm and commitment. I can promise you that our management team is committed to matching you on both counts.

It is also very encouraging to see our more established markets in China and other parts of the world continue to develop and grow, even as we break into new areas, across the world.

The core of the LEO business is Education and Skills training; our product set. In the last quarter we have developed and launched hundreds, yes hundreds, of products under the Coreline, LEOSkills and LEOLingua brands, as well as eTutoring courses provided by Members with a particular knowledge or skill and a desire to share it. I encourage you to take advantage of this extensive library of resources.

THE GLOBAL LEADERS’ SUMMIT The GLS in Germany and France was the highlight of the quarter. In this

two-centre event held over seven days,

qualifiers were treated to VIP Business Meetings and a Live Seminar in Berlin before being whisked off to Paris on the ‘LEO jet’. The GLS culminated in a spectacular event at Le Manoir in Fontainebleau, where Atif and I shared our plans for the second half of the year with our top Leaders. What was most valuable to us was the opportunity to take their feedback and discuss the suggestions they made, many of which we will be implementing as we go forward.

CHAMBER OF DIGITAL COMMERCE LEOcoin and LEOxChange have seen a good growth in activity and in stature in recent months. The Market Capitalisation of LEOcoin has risen so that it is now among the top digital currencies in the world. Such is the importance of LEOcoin in the global digital currency economy, that the LEOcoin Foundation has been invited to be an Executive Member of the Chamber of Digital Commerce. The Chamber is a US organisation that lobbies governments and looks to influence legislation on the use of digital currencies in daily life. This means that we will have an important part to play in the development of digital currencies for everyday use by everyday people; an important part of the LEOcoin philosophy. Our Members’ continued support is invaluable to these efforts.

We are paying conscious attention to our training programs like the LEO Learning System, and will continue to allocate time to support our Leaders’ ‘Discover LEO’ events, so that we stay connected with those who made the company what it is today and what it will be in the future: our Members and customers.

I’m looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at these events.

Richard Branson’s top ten tips for success

To those of us who have heard Dan and Atif speak about what drives them,

these may sound familiar.

1 Follow your dreams

2 Make a positive difference

in the world

3 Believe in your ideas

4 Have fun and take care of your team

5 Don’t give up

6 Make lots of lists

7 Get out there and do things

8 Learn to delegate

9 Prove your naysayers wrong

10 Do what you love, and have a sofa in

the kitchen

If these tips have worked for Richard, Dan and Atif, they will also work for you. [Although we’re not so sure that the sofa in the kitchen is absolutely essential.]

According to a 2013 Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity study, a leading indicator of new business creation in the United States, 0.28 percent of American adults are starting businesses each month (roughly 476,000 new business owners per month).

So, what makes an entrepreneur an entrepreneur?

1. Entrepreneurs offer no excuses

2. Entrepreneurs are driven by their passion. They are excited to wake up in the morning and get going.

3. Entrepreneurs hustle during every second of the day and enjoy it.

4. Entrepreneurs sacrifice a lot to be where they are.

5. Entrepreneurs take action.

6. Entrepreneurs are accountable. They do what they say they are going to do. They are never “about to do” something.

7. Entrepreneurs put in the work. They realize nothing comes easy.

8. Entrepreneurs learn from failure and take the punches.

9. Entrepreneurs are focused on building their business.

10. Entrepreneurs say possible.

You will recognise these characteristics in yourselves.

If it was a Top 11 list, then Point 11 would be: Entrepreneurs earn their just rewards.

What makes an entrepreneur an entrepreneur?

Recent statistics based on a Nielsen study revealed that 92% of consumers believe recommendations from friends and family over all other forms of advertising. Another study conducted by the American telecom giant Verizon revealed that 85% of small businesses in the USA thanked word of mouth for their success.

Over a third of the UK population choose to buy products through direct selling. The research, from the UK Direct Selling Association and YouGov, also found that 7% of people in the UK have worked as direct sellers. The figures reflect the industry’s growth in popularity in the UK, with DSA figures showing 400,000 people now make money as direct sellers – more than any other type of part time work in the country. 75% of these are women.

LEO training recommends networking as the best way to develop a business. These surveys are encouraging news because they show that people

respect the direct selling business model and they are open to hearing your proposition. Getting time with people is a first step to educating them. In UK they call this ‘pushing against an open door’.

Did You Know This?

French poet and philosopher Paul Valery once said, “The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.”

If you were wondering why LEO is opening an office in the Philippines ….

Direct Sales on the rise in Philippines.

Direct selling businesses in the country are growing significantly and remain one of the top alternative sources of income especially among women, according to Jomel Diaz, Sophie Paris sales manager in Philippines.

“Ten years ago, direct selling companies had difficulty engaging people to join but with the expansion of the industry over the years, coupled with the testimonies of successful people in the

industry, this business model has gained traction and has attracted more people to get involved,” said Diaz.

According to Diaz, people venture into direct selling because of its proven system and small capitalization requirement. Another factor that entices more Filipinos to take the direct selling route is that it doesn’t require business experience or high educational background. “Anyone can become big in this business so long as you work hard. Plus, companies like us give business mentorship and other trainings to further unleash the potential of our members. Your success in direct selling will depend on the time and effort you put in to grow your business,” Diaz said.

The launch event on 10th October will see Dan, Atif and Geraldine presenting ‘How to develop your business to achieve your goals’.

Piloted in Murree, Pakistan and held in Manila, Philippines, to great acclaim, this free event comprises 3 chapters taught over 3 days. Look out for the schedule in your Back office.
