may have a solution for you. Guided independent

studies integrates printed materials, tapes, and

Langara has some of the most reasonable

tuition rates in the province. If you’re a

typical domestic University Studies student

taking a full course load (that’s 15 credits per

semester), your tuition will be about $1,299.00

falcon spoTlighTAfter closing out an all-star career last season, soccer standout

Loren Lidin will be returning to the field this year in a new capacity

for the Falcons. Loren is planning on joining the soccer coaching

staff for the 2012-13 campaign. As starting goalkeeper Loren

collected provincial all-star recognition in each of her five years at

the College, and was named the CCAA National Player of the Year

in 2009-10. During her career the women’s soccer team amassed

a provincial bronze medal, three provincial silver medals, a

provincial gold medal, and a CCAA National Championship in 2009-

10. Loren graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration

in 2012. We are extremely excited to have her join the Falcons

coaching staff and continue her career at Langara.

media-ready classrooms, lecture halls, labs,

creative studios, meeting and study spaces,

student support services, and faculty and

administration offices. These buildings,

along with most of the campus, have Wi-Fi

accessibility.

gymnasiumThe gym is equipped with changing

rooms, lockers, showers, and two teaching

classrooms. This is where the Falcons

train and where sport enthusiasts can get

some exercise between classes.

library/cl assroom buildingThis state-of-the-art building opened in

2007. Renowned for energy efficiency, it

offers classrooms, computer labs, a coffee

shop, and an extensive library collection.

child developmenT cenTreA reputable daycare with programs looking

after 60 children ranging from 18 months

to 5 year olds. This facility offers outdoor

playgrounds, playrooms, and a resource

room. Priority is given to children of

Langara students.

bikeIt is convenient to cycle to Langara along the nearby

37th Avenue Bikeway (Ridgeway Greenway) or along

the Ontario Street Bikeway. Take advantage of special

features like cyclist-priority crosswalks and speed-

controlled intersections. We have bicycle racks all

around the campus. There is also a locked bicycle

parking cage and a compressed air hose for your

convenience. Showers are available in the gym.

busThe bus is a great transportation choice. The 49th

Avenue bus stops directly in front of the campus, while

Main Street and Cambie Street buses are only a few

blocks away.

As a Langara student, you are part of the U-Pass BC

program. For an affordable fee, eligible students have

unlimited all-zone access to the entire TransLink system

of buses, SkyTrains, and SeaBuses, as well as discounted

fares on the West Coast Express.

skyTrainTo get to the main campus, use your U-Pass BC to hop on

the Canada Line, get off at Langara-49th Avenue Station,

and walk two blocks east. To put it into perspective,

we’re now just 13 minutes from downtown Vancouver

and 12 minutes from Richmond Centre.

carpoolAvoid the hassle of finding parking – join a carpool and

get a dedicated space near a campus entrance.

whaT are specific program requiremenTs?For admission to Career Studies and University Studies

limited enrolment programs, you may need to meet

additional admission requirements. Examples of

these requirements include specific courses, letters of

reference, letters of intent, interviews, auditions, and/or

portfolio submissions.

Requirements may also include achieving appropriate

scores on diagnostic and placement tests. Most

commonly used for admissions and course placement

are the Langara English Test (LET) and the Language

Proficiency Index (LPI). Others include the

Mathematics/Statistics Diagnostic Test (MDT), and the

Chemistry and Physics Diagnostic Tests.

ensure that your interim grades and

final transcript are automatically

sent to Langara. To ensure we have

your interim transcript before

registration begins in June, you

should submit an online application

and complete the PSI Selections

form no later than April 30, 2013.

BC Grade 12 students are not
