FARGO PROGRAM OPTIONSBusiness Management

(Business Pro Series)

The Business Pro Series is a sequence of business courses that are ideal for adult learners, such as those who want to fill in specific gaps in their skill sets, entrepreneurs and small business owners. This series focuses on useful, practical knowledge and skills that you can apply right away to your real-world, workplace situations.

The Business Pro Series is broken into 4 areas of emphasis:- Entrepreneurship - Finance - Management/Supervision - Sales

Each area of emphasis includes five or six courses and leads to a Certificate in Business Management.

(Marketing Management)

Upon successful completion of the full Business Pro Series and two credits of wellness electives, students will be awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing Management.

Earning a degree in business management will prepare you for management positions and career paths within companies, or give you the skills you need to own, operate and expand your own business. IT Forensics

More and more crimes are committed with the aid of computers. Whether they are used in the commission of the crime, as in email harassment or stalking, or used for keeping records of illegal activities such as gambling and embezzlement, the computer must be seized and analyzed. This program will help you learn how to provide a secure computer environment and learn techniques for collecting and analyzing IT-related evidence.

Criminal Justice - Transfer

This liberal arts transfer curriculum plan is available to the student whose goal is a career in the justice system. This plan is for the student who wishes to complete the Associate in Arts degree at NDSCS, transfer directly to a four-year college or university to complete the bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and then complete the one semester Peace Officer Training (or other specific academy for their chosen area of criminal justice).

Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Technology

NDSCS-Fargo and Sanford Health EMS Education / F-M Ambulance Service have teamed up to offer a two-year degree and certificate options in the field of Paramedic (EMT) Technology.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) The Emergency Medical Technician program offers you career training for entry-level positions in an emergency medical setting. As an EMT, you will be expected to respond to emergency calls and provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured as well as transport patients to appropriate medical facilities.

Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) (Pending Approval)

The AEMT program offers you career training for mid-level positions in a pre-hospital emergency medical setting. AEMTs positions range from volunteer services to part and full-time employment with public and private organizations.

Paramedic Technology

The Paramedic Technology program prepares you with the necessary skills and knowledge to complete national certification with the possibility of obtaining employment as a paramedic. Paramedics primarily provide care to emergency patients in and out of a hospital setting. Their goal is to prevent and reduce mortality and morbidity due to illness and injury.

Community Paramedic (Pending Approval)

Community Paramedics act in instances where other health care providers may not be available and primarily respond to a patient’s home. Their goal is to provide the best treatment to the patient while reducing use of emergency services. Community Paramedics are responsible and accountable to physician medical direction.

Microelectronics Technology

The Microelectronics Technology program at NDSCS-Fargo will provide you with a broad exposure to the fundamentals of electronics. A graduate in Microelectronics Technology is lab-ready and concept-proficient in analog, digital, microcontrollers, electronic communications, troubleshooting and many other aspects of electronics—giving you the cutting edge when it comes to landing a challenging and rewarding career.

Nanoscience Technology

Nanoscience is an emerging technology that studies the composition, structure, properties and behavior of material at the molecular and atomic level. Research, observation, measurement and manipulation occur in the nanometer range. A nanometer is one-billionth of a meter.As a Nanotechnician, you could work in a wide variety of industries including biomedicine/biotech, microelectronics/microfabrication (RFID), materials/coatings/polymers, agriculture production, food processing, environmental analysis/bio-remediation and energy (solar/wind/H-fuel cells/biomass).

Dialysis Technician (Pending Approval)

In most dialysis facilities, dialysis technicians perform dialysis treatments under the supervisor of a registered nurse. Dialysis technicians have excellent job opportunities which include employment in clinics and free standing dialysis centers.

The two semesters of this program consist of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction at NDSCS-Fargo and at outpatient dialysis centers.

Practical Nursing

Practical nurses are in high demand and have excellent job opportunities. Earn your nursing degree from a college that has built a reputation for quality nursing education. The Practical Nursing program at NDSCS-Fargo is designed to give you the flexibility you need to fit your busy life.Students can take pre-nursing classes and general education courses at NDSCS-Fargo at any time prior to acceptance. Welding Technology

The Welding Technology curriculum is designed to provide you with experience in welding as it pertains to assembly, manufacturing, energy and construction. Technical Studies

The Technical Studies program addresses a recognized need for business and industry to attract highly-trained workers with a variety of skills and to retain current workers. This application is used to determine if you qualify for Grants, Federal Loans and Work Study. Apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov and enter the NDSCS code 002996. NDSCS’s priority deadline for the FAFSA is April 15th.

Submit the NDSCS Scholarship ApplicationNDSCS gives out over $300,000 each year in scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of factors including GPA, ACT score, academic program and financial need. Scholarship applications can be completed at any time however we recommend that you apply by February 1st for the best opportunity to receive a scholarship.

APPLICATIONNDSCS doesn’t have an application deadline, although some programs do fill up quickly. So, the sooner you submit your application, the better your chances are for getting into your program of choice.

Applications for most programs that begin in August are accepted throughout the year, but an early application is recommended.

Submit Official High School Transcript or GEDAn in-progress transcript must be sent to make an admission decision. An official high school transcript with final grades and a graduation date is required upon completion of high school. To be considered official, the transcripts must be sent directly to NDSCS from the high school.

Submit Official College Transcript(s) Transfer students, and students taking course work at colleges or universities while enrolled in high school, must mail official in-progress transcripts. To be considered official, the transcripts must be sent directly to NDSCS from the issuing institution. Final college transcripts must be submitted once all course work is completed.

Submit Test ScoresAssociate in Applied Science, Diploma or Certificate Program ApplicantsIf you are applying for an Associate in Applied Science, Diploma or Certificate program you will need to obtain minimum entrance scores in order to meet the Program Admission Requirements for your selected program. Approved exams include the ACT, SAT and Compass. For more information, including the required scores for your selected program visit NDSCS.edu/Requirements.

Liberal Arts/Transfer ApplicantsIf you are applying for an Associate in Arts, Liberal Arts/Transfer program you must submit an ACT or SAT score unless:

• You are 25 years of age or older, or• You have 24 or more credits transferable into a degree program
