#BeCauseY.My husband Shawn and I grewup without a Y in our localcommunities. It was only uponmoving to oshkosh fourteenyears ago that we discoveredthe Y and what it has to offerfamilies. In fact, the 20thAvenue Y was one of thereasons we chose oshkoshas the community to raiseour family. Fourteen years

ago we knew the Y would be a destination for our growing family… little did weknow that it would become a cornerstone of our family.

Because of the Y, all four of our kids attended summer camps through campWinni-Y-co They learned how to rock climb, play basketball, tennis, and soccer. The Y trained luke for his first job as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Because ofthe Y, luke, cassie, Danielle, and Jade joined the oSHY swim team and becamecompetitive swimmers. oSHY has given our kids a chance to compete around thestate, across the country for Y nationals, and at our own amazing Y facility. Theannual oSHY champions meet in the fall has given all of our kids the opportunityto swim and train with olympic Gold Medalists like Matt Grevers and DarianTownsend. clearly, our Y has opened doors for our kids and hundreds ofswimmers from other communities in ways that kids normally only dream of.#BeCausey.

our oshkosh Y has cultivated friendships and healthyhabits to last a lifetime for everyone in our family. Someof my dearest friends are those that I attend Kickboxingand Body Pump with. Their energy and dedication arewhat keep me going to the gym all year round, rain orshine. Shawn has been working with PeS along withKathy leonard for over a year and has learned to worktoward fitness goals and become stronger. Along theway, he has had strangers at the Y come up to him, compliment him and encourage him to keep going.#BeCausey.

Many times each day, we drive back and forth to our oshkosh Ys. I havefrequently told people that our Y is the busiest destination in oshkosh and it isdefinitely where our family spends the majority of our time. It is our home awayfrom home where the friends are our family. we will always be grateful to our yfor making our family Stronger Together.
