REBUILDING ENGLAND’S NAZARETH

O n the 24th September we shall be celebrating the feast of Our Lady of

tional Shrine to Our Lady. We are looking to upgrade existing buildings and build new facili-

ties, to help us serve the increasing numbers of pilgrims, who continue to walk in the Wal-

singham Way, since the shrine was established in 1061. Our aims are to update our facili-

ties, and to make provision for sick and disabled pilgrims and to have facilities for young peo-

YEAR OF MERCY

The Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, To thee do we send up our sighs,

Mourning and weeping in this vale of tears Turn then, most gracious advocate,

thine eyes of mercy toward us And after this our exile show unto us The blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. R. That we may be made worthy

of the promises Of Christ

DOORS OF MERCY

During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, you are invited to make a pilgrim-

age to the churches in the Diocese hosting a Holy Door. Those mak-

ing a brief pilgrimage during the year to the Cathedral Holy Door or

the others throughout the Diocese (locally at Our Lady of Willesden)

may gain the Jubilee indulgence for themselves or the Holy Souls.

Information about events during the Year of Mercy, Holy Doors and

the Indulgence is available on the Diocesan Website http://

rcdow.org.uk/year-of-mercy/. May this Holy Year be for all, as Pope

Francis wishes, ‘a true moment of encounter with the mercy of God’.

FAMILY FUN RUN: SUNDAY 9TH OCTOBER

Calling all junior athletes (and those slightly less sporty too!). Raise

funds for the senior citizens' Christmas Lunch by joining a sponsored

run around Tiverton Park at midday on Sunday 9th October. One cir-

cuit is just 400m so whether you're the next Usain Bolt or another Mo

Farah in the making, a toddler toddling or a teenager trending, put on

your trainers and come for a run!

Everyone else: please sponsor the athletes and support them on the

day. Rain or shine!

Sponsorship Forms available at the back of the church..
