St. Mary's Haitian Ministry emersion trip to Haiti, Jan 10th -17th 2017. You will experience the love, joy and faith of our brothers and sisters in Haiti who struggle in a third

September 2016 Dear Friends in Christ, Every Year on the third weekend of September we celebrate Catechetical Sunday here in our Diocese and across the nation. The theme for this year’s celebration on September 18, 2016 is “Prayer: The Faith Prayed.” Our prayers are the reflection of our faith. As parents and catechists we teach our children and those going through the RCIA process that we can obtain a personal and intimate relationship with God through prayer. Catechists facilitate this process, first of all, through their own fidelity to prayer. Then they are enabled to lead adults or children through meaningful prayer experiences of their own. In this way, relationship with God is fostered. All of us, as members of the Church community, are called to grow in our knowledge of the faith, and at the same time to communicate that faith to others through our actions. On this Catechetical Sunday, I acknowledge the essential role of parents as the primary educators of their children. Children first learn about prayer by praying with their parents each day in their own homes. Catechists take on this role of education in a special way for the children and adults in the parish. May these efforts enlighten children and adults with the knowledge of God’s love for them and His desire to dwell within them. Mindful of my role as Chief Catechist of the Diocese of Norwich, I want to express my deep gratitude to those who have been designated by their communities to serve as catechists. In closing, I call on each of you to celebrate Catechetical Sunday as an opportunity to rededicate yourselves to the mission of prayer and preaching the Gospel through the actions of your daily lives. Philip Cemetery Sexton Volunteer position involves maintaining and coordinating records with the Town of Ashford, rules and regulations for burials, headstone and military markers, flowers and shrubs; communication with families, Funeral Homes, Monument companies and Hipsky Construction Company.
