CINEMATOGRAPHY Cinematography is a type of photography that involves using film to capture images, the images are then aliened and edited to produce a long strip of images making a film. There are numerous way to create a difference during cinematography, E.G. different color filters, this can allow for the movie to host a tinted film, you can get a filter of any color and this can add a unique touch to a movie. However the film stock you use must be chosen before the production of the movie, this is because once you have started recording, unless you use different film you cannot change it. When doing cinematography you must also choose a film gauge, 8mm (amateur), 16mm (semi-professional), 35mm (professional) 65mm. 65mm is rarely used unless it is for special events in certain venues and requires a high amount of skill in cinematography (extreme professional). Cinematography is done on negative film, this is because when it is developed it will develop positively, this means that whit will appear white and black will appear black. North the One thing you have the ability to do in cinematography, apart from being able to show the aspect of movement within a scene, is the ability to move the camera whilst taking the video. This means that you can show the audience what is happening from different angles, not only can this enhance the movie you are making but can also allow you to produce a more complex and exciting finishing piece.

North the other way round.Cinematography is effectively lensed photography, this means that it has only got a certain focus ability, this means that you have to make sure that you are always in focus. This is not so bad though because it means that eventually you get a better quality video in the end.
