GRCBC 2009 Specialty Report Judge’s Critique Thursday, July 16, 2009 Judge: Mrs. Shannon Scheer, from Calgary, Alberta Juvenile Sweepstakes Junior Puppy Males: Considering the age category, these boys were very well behaved. Very impressive class which held different levels of maturity. 1. # 31 Fyreglo’s Double Shot By Am Can Ch Fyreglo’s Family Circus x JBG’s Bubblicious My first place dog is probably the oldest of the group, and the most out of coat. However he is a very free moving puppy. On the go round he has a strong topline and nice easy open gait. I would like to see a little bit more of him, but he has everything where it should be right at the moment. 2. # 32 Kavon’s Caffe Espresso By Ch Auburnmist Special Blend WC AGNJ AGN x Ch Kavon Penny Fr Yr Thoughts. Lovely front assembly on this dog. Very nice to go over in a stack. I like the bone this puppy has. On the go round the topline still needs more maturity. He is much younger than the first place dog and at the roly-poly stage right now. He loses his outline with the movement.

~ JUDGES’ CRITIQUES ~ Attached please find the Judges’ Critiques and comments on their chosen winners. Not all commentaries are complete. These results have been transcribed by Mrs. Carol Beaulieu and Sheila Standish. We have endeavored to be as accurate as possible with all Winners’ names, Dams and Sires included for breeder and pedigree information and education. Each critique was sent to the various the judges for their approval and editing, as well as proofreading. We heard back from the regular and unofficial class judges but not the sweepstakes judges, so we are hopeful this will meet with their approval.

3. # 34 Goldtales Follow Your Heart By Ch Tashora Major Majong x Goldtales Not Just For Kids A very sound dog coming and going. Topline is not as strong but he also was a very young Jr puppy. I am very impressed with how sound these young boys all were on the down and back.

4. # 35 Anbrus International Teddy Bear By Ch Tashora Beam Me Up x Anbrus High Tea at Manor OA AXJ Probably a little older than the second and third placements. He had a strong topline and tail carriage on the go around but was a little to narrow in the front. I would like to see a little more bone. Senior Puppy Males: Three totally different types, however I liked them all. All are very nice moving dogs. 1. # 38 Murlo’s Heart, Mind & Soul By Am Can Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario CD JH WC VCX x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo I found this to be a nice honest dog, owner handled to the best of his ability. He possessed a strong level topline with strong reach and drive and power on the side gait. This is a very nice puppy. 2. # 40 Kulalani’s Blue Hawaiian By Ch Fyreglo’s Tuff Act to Follow x Ch Kulalani’s Kahea Nani TD AGNS Very nice topline on the go around, fice front coming at you but I felt not enough drive in the rear which in turn may come with conditioning. 3. # 41 Murlo’s Conversation Peace By Am Can Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario CD JH WC VCX x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo I liked this dog for the soundness in the coming and going. He is a shorter backed dog than his competitors. He tends to drop in the croup on the side gait and does not carry his tail as merrily as he could which ruined his outline when moving with the group. In a stack this puppy is very impressive.

12 – 15 Month Males: 1. # 47 Meadowmist Jammin’ at Fyreglo By Ch Corum’s Stairway To H’ven x Fyreglo Meadowmist Rambln Wind 2. # 164 Can Ch Zaniri’s Piece by Piece WC JH By Am Ch Deauxquest Hard Days Knight Am WCX JH UD TD x Zaniri’s Ready Aim Fire SH WCX CDX CGN This was a tough class to judge as I liked both dogs very much and they were very different from each other. My first place dog is a little bit more refined and a nice mover who held his outline on both the down and back and the go round. My second place dog is a heavier built dog carrying a little more weight. Again a very nice moving dog on the down and back but he possesses a lighter eye. 15-18 Month Males: A very strong male class which gave me several different types to choose from.

1. # 49 Gowrielea Don’t Need to be Coy By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN This was the darkest colored dog in the class but there was no denying his beautiful powerful side gait which carried a very strong back and correctly carried tail. Dark Pigment which complimented his strong square head. He was a bit more refined in substance for this age category but he carries himself with such confidence and showmanship. On the down and back he is as good as he is on the side. I was very impressed with this young dog.

2. # 51 Camalire’s Front Page Story By Am Ch Rush Hill’s Foolish Pleasure x Ch Camalire Kentucky Woman This class was not one that you could judge type for type as they all had great attributes to add to our breed. My second place dog was a blonde dog who really pushed for the first placement. On any given day these two could switch honors. This was again a free and easy moving dog who was

in incredible coat and condition for this time of year. However, he was not quite as smooth on the side gait as the first place dog was.

3. # 52 Mudlane’s Dinner and a Movie By Ch Verdoro’s Dances With Wolves x Ch Verdoro’s YYG It was starting to get very hot out by now and so tail carriages on many dogs – I could not tell if they were carried lower because of the heat or just lack of wanting to. This is a very powerful moving dog on the side gait. Very pretty dog in a stack with beautiful front angles. A very mature dog for his age, lacking coat, with strong pigment. He lost his outline in the heat.

4.# 45 Creeksidefrms Eyecandyatchigal By Ch Creeksidefrm’s Country Squire x Creeksidefrm’s Trick Or Treat This again is a very mature dog for his age carrying a tremendous amount of coat and in great condition. His training and showmanship are undeniable. He is a bit loose on the down and back carries a nice topline and tail carriage but on this day had a slight hitch in the hindquarters. Junior Puppy Females: My favorite class! Again I was presented with three totally different types. 1. # 79 JBG’S Pretty in Pink By JBG’s TJ Hooker x JBG’s Zoey One Oh One She is at the roly poly baby fat stage also. A smaller bitch which possessed amazing reach and drive on the side gait. Tail could have been carried higher but was not detrimental to her once she moved. 2. # 78 Verdero’s New Horizons By Ch Auburnmist Special Blend WC AGNJ AGN RN x Ch Verdoro’s Chunky Monkey I really liked this girl and could tell this was her first ring experience. Beautiful front assembly, nice topline and very sound. She just lacked experience. 3. # 80 Goldtales You Didn’t Hear It From Me By Ch Tashora Major Majong x Goldtails Not Just For Kids By far the fanciest puppy, and quite the show girl. She was very out of coat compared to the others but that was not a deciding factor. She is more

slightly built and refined with a strong topline and beautiful tail set and carriage. Not as much reach and drive as the first and second placement. Senior Puppy Females: 1. # 83 Verdero’s Carpe Diem By Am Can Ch Verdoro’s Triple Chill x Am Can Ch Verdoro Countrylane Josephine A very light colored striking bitch in a stack. Again she does not have the ring experience that the others in this class have . To go over this girl structurally is very rewarding. Her pigment is strong and she holds herself together with strong movement and proper tail carriage.

2. # 84 Murlo’s Too Hot Ta Trot By Am Ch Goodtimes Best Case Scenario SDHF JH CD x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo Again a very nice bitch. Pretty in the stack . Her side gait is good but not quite as strong in the topline as the first place bitch on the move.

3. # 82 Legacy’s Private Envoy to Rocklane By Laureate Gracious King Lear x Sidekick’s Guilty as Sin This was a smaller very pretty bitch who was very nice coming and going. On this day she was not very strong in the temperment. She was fine with the examine but seemed to be noise sensitive which affected her outline when she moved. 4. # 85 Leemark’s Flirt’n With Fate By Am Can CH Kalar’s Four PawDrivexCh RiverdanceLeemark Jade CDX/TD/JH/WC A pretty blonde bitch who was very sound on the down and back. Unfortunately due to her being a bit heavier than she should have been she lost her outline in the stack as well as when she moved. She has great potential. 12 – 15 Month Females: Three very well trained bitches in great coat. 1. # 89 Sweetgold Camelot By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favor O Novel x SweetGold’s Field Of Dreams

She is free and easy on the move with a lovely topline and tail set. Good use of her upper arm and a pleasing head. She is not overly done in any way, a very nice show dog who is pleasing to watch on the move. 2. # 180 Can Ch JBG’s First Impressions By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x JBG’s Bottoms Up This is a beautifully structured bitch to go over and is very sound on the down and back. She could have a bit better croup on the side gait and a bit darker eye to compliment her color.

3. # 96 Playtimes Butterfly Kisses By Am Can Ch Sunjoie’N Woodland Anyway U Slice It x Pacificgold’s Just A Flirt She had a couple of issues with temperament but she had a good recovery. When she pulled herself together she was nice to watch on the go around. 15-18 Month Females: I felt this to be the strongest class of the Sweepstakes entries. 1. # 175 Can Ch Castlerock Who’s the Boss By Can Am Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Justmoor Something About Mary Simply a beautiful bitch that took my breath away from the moment she walked in the ring. She is in tremendous coat for this time of year and is beautifully trained to show. A nice open easy gait which carries a strong topline and pretty tail carriage. She has a great amount of bone and a nice dark eye. I would like to see a little more leg under this bitch at maturity. She has the “Look At Me” attitude who does not need to be stacked as she can do it all on her own. 2. # 95 Myriosa’s Enchanted Blyss By Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Myriosa Watercolour In The Rain TDX Am TD Originally I had this bitch in third place and on the final go around she showed me what she could do. Again a beautiful moving bitch on the side gait with free and easy movement. Nice tail carriage. She has a lot of reach and drive.

3. # 121 Rush Hill’s Wholelotta Shak’n Go’n On By Ch Rush Hill’s Run’n Amuck At Abelard x Rush Hill’s Here We Go Again This was a beautifully showy bitch that didn’t need a handler as she knew exactly what to do . She was a little bit out of coat but possessed a strong head, lovely type with a sturdy topline.

4. # 93 Gowrielea’s Highland Games By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN Again, this class came down to the showmanship and the side gait that these four bitches possess. This bitch uses all that she has and carries herself beautifully around the ring with strong reach and drive. She also has a very pretty head and nice dark pigment.

BISS: # 175 Can Ch Castlerock Who’s the Boss By Can Am Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Justmoor Something About Mary BOSS: # 49 Gowrielea Don’t Need to be Coy By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN Veteran Sweepstakes: 9 years & under 11 Veteran Male : 1. # 77 Can Ch Camalire Romancing the Stone CDX RE By Ch Rush Hill’s Haagen-Dazs WC CD x Ch Tashora’s Creme de la Crème In phenomenal condition, nice moving dog in beautiful weight and condition – sound. 11 and older Veteran Male: 1. # 76 Can Am Ch Peppercreek’s in the Company O’Shamans By Peppercreek Whistler x Forever Golden J.P. Peppercreek Lex. In impeccable condition, absolutely stunning, his only grey is in his mask, he still moves dead sound, he has a strong topline on the go, and he looks really happy to be here.

7 years & under 9 Veteran Female: 1. # 131 Can Am Ch Karagold’s Lets Be Happy By Am Ch Sandpoint Talisman x Am Ch Karagold’s Best Kept Secret It is hard to believe that this little dynamite package is actually at the Veteran stage. This bitch gives her all and you cant help but notice her. She is trained beautifully and I was astounded to find her in my Veterans line up as she looks and acts like a young dog. 9 years & under 11 Veteran Female : They are magnificent. Everyone is very competitive and could go in the ring any day. 1. # 139 Can Ch Beckwiths Golden Glori CGC By Ch Goodtimes Best Case Scenario JH x Rosegolds Diamond Solit’heir Amazing reach and drive and power and still loves to show. 2. # 126 Klasiques Breath of Fresh Air By Ch Trademark Of Rush Hill x Kierras Classic Golden Glow Loves to show and had a beautiful go around. 3. # 135 Can Ch Ambervale Gemcut For Goldflite By Ch Goldflite Positively Charged x Ch Ambervale Days Of Wine N Roses TD WC Lots of power on the go lovely topline just absolutely gorgeous. 4. # 134 Can Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom By Am Can Ch Gowrielea’s Far’N Away x Ch Nautilus Corn Silk Flying around the ring, not as strong in the topline as the first three but lots of power. 11 years over: 1. # 132 Can Am Ch Goodtime’s Accidental Tourist By Am Ch Rush Hill’s Goodtime’s Never End x Am Ch Laurell Goodtime Pink Champagne

What can you say when you get to this age category. My first place bitch just keeps getting better n better. She may not possess the strong powerful reach and drive as the other veterans, but given her age, her conditioning and showmanship is outstanding. This bitch could compete with the younger breed dogs today. Her topline is rock solid, tail carriage beautiful and she is very much the type I am use to and so have a soft spot for her. BVISS: # 132 Can Am Ch Goodtime’s Accidental Tourist By Am Ch Rush Hill’s Goodtime’s Never End x Am Ch Laurell Goodtime Pink Champagne BOVSS: # 76 Can Am Ch Peppercreek’s in the Company O’Shamans By Peppercreek Whistler x Forever Golden J.P. Peppercreek Lex. In judging the Veteran Sweeps, I was so honored to have been given the chance to see the finest that our breed has to offer. The breeders and owners should all give themselves a pat on the back for bringing such incredible specimens to the National weekend. The conditioning of the veterans was of top notch quality and seeing the sparkle in their eyes is reward enough. I wish everyone could receive the first place ribbon! As I stated to my Best In Veteran Sweeps competitors, by the time it came to that overall decision, there was no denying the fact that I was going to honor our two oldest class winners: Can Am Ch Goodtimes Accidental Tourist and Can Am Ch Peppercreek’s In The Company O’Shamans. Thank you to the GRBC for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to judge such quality dogs. Respectfully, Shannon Scheer. GRCBC 2009 Specialty Judge’s Critique Thursday, July 16, 2009 Judged by Mr Carl Liepmann

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge and to compliment them for having put on such a fine show. The grounds were perfect and the weather chairperson held off the rain and provided a nice breeze to offset the temperature. I was very pleased with the quality of the exhibits although I found it interesting that on the whole the dogs were better than the bitches. The specials class was as good, or better than I have seen in many years and certainly many of those that were not carried through were still competitive. Male Classes: Junior puppy male - Kavon’s Caffe Espresso By Ch Auburnmist Special Blend WC AGN x Ch Kavon Penny Fr Yr Thoughts This dog has a nice forechest, good head piece, ear set is proper, nice dark pigment perhaps a little bit long in back, but hopefully as the dog matures and grows up it will come along. Nice rear angulation and proper coat. Senior puppy male – Murlo’s Conversation Peace By Am Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario SDHF JH CD x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo Dog has a nice top line, drops a bit off in croup in the rear, nice headpiece, good pigment, head, good reach in front could use a little more drive in rear but hopefully that will come as he gets older. Coats in very nice condition. 12 to 15 Month male – Chantilly Boss in Motion By Ch Creeksidefrm Stings Like A Bee x Ch Premiere She’s Da Bomb Very nicely coupled dog, good front reach, good rear drive, and nice headpiece - could use a little less of an ear. All in all a nice dog that was very curious about the dogs behind him. 15-18 Month male - Myriosa All Blyss’n Heaven Too By Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Myriosa Watercolour In The Rain TDX Am TD Dog that could use a little more training, but well put together has a nice front, good width of chest, good rear angulation, wonderful topline and the dog could use just a little more reach in front going around. Canadian bred male - Zaniri’s King Of The Blues AGNJS WC CGN

By Ch Donamor Beale Street Blues Boy JH WC CD TD CGN x UH HR Maplebears Red Alert At Zaniri CDX WCX MH Am WCX Class of one. I don’t know the age on the dog, but it appears to be immature; a bit fine boned, has a nice topline and good rear angulation but is apparently a work in progress. Bred by exhibitor male – Goldtales Mister Big Time By Ch Kalar’s Four Paw Drive x Ch Rocklane’s Relive The Magic This dog is a quality animal that has a wonderful head piece, nice topline and great forechest. It is certainly one that I would want to have if I were the breeder in the bred by class. Good angulation and good reach and drive. Open male – Allseasons Karbon Copy By Am/Can Ch Bachelor of Rye WC x Ch Shadowflax Allseasons Ford A dog with exceptionally nice coat, well groomed, nice headpiece, and good length of muzzle. In condition that looks like he could go out in the field and do the job. Not excessive in coat, good rear angulation, very good reach and drive on the go around. Winner’s Dog : Allseasons Karbon Copy By Am/Can Ch Bachelor of Rye WC x Ch Shadowflax Allseasons Ford Reserve Winner’s Dog: Gracious Gold’s Greased Lightening By Am Can CH Creeksidefrm Stings Like A Bee SDHF xCh Gracious Gold’s Lady Brit Veteran male (7 to 10 years) - Can Ch GMOTCH Goldfield Pistol Packin’ Devil By Ch Justmoor Believe In Me x Ch Goldfield’s Grace Under Guns WCI JH CD Dog used itself very well for its age going around the ring. Had good reach and hard drive in the rear, was caring a nice topline and overall a good quality animal. Veteran male (10+ years) Can/AM CH Peppercreek’s in the Company O’Shamans

By Peppercreek Whistler x Forever Golden J.P. Peppercreek Lex Standing like a champion, looking at its handler right now. Nice strong topline, good tuck up and very alert - especially for his age of 11 - and used his self well going and coming. Female Classes Junior puppy female – Midas California Dreamin By Crystal Fall’s Fortune Hunter x Midas Sophe’s My Choice Has a very nice topline, good shoulders, actually great layback, headpiece is proper, could use a little less ear but they are set properly on the head, topline is nice and level and good rear angulation. Senior puppy female – Murlo’s Too Hot Ta Trot By Am Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario SDHF JH CD x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo Dog in a wonderful coat with a strong topline, good length of muzzle, nice stop, pretty headpiece, very nice kind expression 12-15 month female – Sweetgold Camelot By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x Sweetgold’s Field of Dreams She is going through her teenage years as is to be expected, but she carried herself well on the go around and she used herself well when baited by the handler. She has all the making of a dog that will eventually be what he wants her to be. 15-18 month female – Myriosa’s Enchanted Bliss By Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Myriosa Watercolour in the Rain Again another bitch that is going through a little bit of the teenage year, she needs to mature out a little bit more. She has a good topline. She’s got good spring of rib and she used herself well going around. She could have driven a little better in the rear but good front reach. Canadian bred female – Zaniri’s Justa New Day By Amigold on a Wing N A Prayer x Zaniti Scenter of the Universe This dog is lovely going around. She has good proper reach and hard drive in the rear. Again appears to be a young dog. Coat is a bit of a problem right now but it is coming back in. The topline is nice and level.

Bred by exhibitor female – Murlo’s Unbelievable Paige Turner By Am Can Ch Goodtime’s Murlo take a Bow x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo A dog in good hard condition used herself well going around the ring and with good reach and drive. She is very alert to the handler. She is a little bit sparse in coat but it is that time of year. Open female – Chuckanut’s Uptown Girl By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x Ch Monogram’s Cash Advance In glorious coat, nice topline. She is a little bit loose going around needs to tighten up a bit. Pretty headpiece, nice expression and overall very nice dog. Winner’s Bitch: Open female – Chuckanut’s Uptown Girl By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x Ch Monogram’s Cash Advance Reserve Winner’s Bitch: Bred by exhibitor female – Murlo’s Unbelievable Paige Turner By Am Can Ch Goodtime’s Murlo take a Bow x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo Veteran female (7 to 10 years) - Can/Am CH Karagold’s Lets Be Happy By Am Can Ch Sandpoint Talisman x Am CH Karagold’s Best Kept Secret This bitch is a very quality bitch and she could have been competitive if she had been in the classes. She has a nice topline and is good on the go around. She lacked a little tail feathers - but we don’t count tail feathers - so otherwise she is a very quality animal. Veteran female (10 + years) – Can/Am CH Beckwiths Christmas Star By Ch Suntory Loveit A Cherrybrook x Int Ch Rosegolds Diamond Solit’heir A bitch that used herself very well going around the ring, she belies her age she acts more like she is about seven instead of whatever age she is - 11 or 12. She has a nice head piece, very kind expression and looks like she could go in the ring today and compete. Best of Breed – Can CH Fyreglo’s Lights Camera Action

By Am Can Ch Creeksidefrms Country Squire SDHF OS x By Am Can Ch Fyreglo’s Goody Two Shoes A dog that, in my opinion, matches the standard as well as any that I have seen wonderful topline good size plenty of bone looks like he could go out in the field and do his job. Pretty foreface, eyes are set properly with the ears just above the corner of the eyes, with a nice tight ear set. Nice tight feet, good rear angles, in wonderful coat and with plenty of reach and drive. Baited wonderfully, has a beautiful headpiece, good topline, angled properly, good reach and drive. A bitch that I would take home in a heartbeat. Best of Winners was the Winners dog, WD– Allseasons Karbon Copy By Am/Can Ch Bachelor of Rye WC x Ch Shadowflax Allseasons Ford He held up well through the long specials class and I was particularly impressed with his ability to reach out and pull in the ground as he circled the ring. Judges Awards of Merit: Ch Devanor Ttan your Toga SDHF By Am Can Ch Auburnmist’s Sunday’s Best Terms x Ch Devanor’s Hot new Sensation Ch Fyreglo’s Tuff Act to Follow By Am Can CH Creeksidefrm’s Country Squire SDHF OS, x Am Can Ch Fyrglo’s Goody Two Shoes Ch Justmoor A Tribute to Bruce By Am Cah Ch Creeksidefrm’s Country Squire SDHF OS x Ch Justmoor’s And the Oscar Goes to Can Am Ch Creeksidefrm Stings Like a Bee SDHF By Am Can Ch Eirene’s Soul Provider x Am Can Ch Summit’s Solar Optics at Creekside SDHF OD Can Am Ch Karagold’s Let’s Be Happy

By Am Ch Sandpoint’s Talisman x Am Ch Karagold’s Best Kept Secret My Judges Awards of Merit choices were extremely competitive and overall as I looked at them in my final line up , I felt that if I closed my eyes and pointed I could not go wrong. There is however, a requirement that I select a Best of Breed and I felt that the eventual winner was expertly handled by a young lady ( I’m told age 13) who obviously had worked with her dog so they became as one. The team was impressive and I felt were just a little above the rest and it only takes “a little”. Best Puppy: Senior puppy female – Murlo’s Too Hot Ta Trot By Am Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario SDHF JH CD x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo I apologize for my failure to critique the eventual class winners in Gun Dog and Bitch, Field Dog and Stud Dog and Brood Bitch and Extended Generations, but I note in the catalog that all were finished champions and I would say that the fact they are, is a testament to their quality. Once again these classes were impressive. Thank you everyone for your nice comments following the judging and for bringing such nice dogs for me to judge. I leave you with the following… “ May all your puppies be special even if they never become specials.” We really have a great breed don’t we? 2009 GRCC Specialty Sweepstakes Report Judge’s Critique

July 17, 2009 Judge: Ms. Beth Johnson from New Frankin, Wisconsin, USA Juvenile Sweepstakes Junior Puppy Male – Fyreglo’s Double Shot

By Am Can Ch Fyreglo’s Family Circus x JBG’s Bubblicious He is a beautiful dog in great condition. He carries a great back, hardly any roll to him, beautiful long neck into shoulder, and great pigment. There’s not much I would change on this dog, maybe a little lean but I would rather see the lean and his ribbing will come a little later. Expression is pretty, maybe slightly a little immature yet but hey this come with the territory I just love the condition and the way this dog owned the ring and down and back was beautiful need I say more there were other nice puppies in this class but the proportion on this dog and the condition was by far above and beyond. Senior Puppy Male – Kulalani’s Blue Hawaiian By Ch Fyreglo’s Tuff Act To Follow x Ch Kulalani’s Kahea Nani TD AGNS My first place dog, he owned this ring when he went around again in very good shape. Reminds me a little bit of my junior dog that I had in the first class. Possibly a little bit longer in back but I don’t see his length coming through the loin so I was pleased to see that. Real pleasant in expression, nice and tight in at the elbows. He is silly a little boy, but that’s OK because when he goes around he gets it all together and does a beautiful down and back also Really moves off his rear really well. Beautiful puppy. Great expression. 12 to 15 Month Male – Chantilly’s Bleeker Street By Am Can Ch Creeksidefrm’s Stings Like A Bee x Ch Premiere’s She’sDa Bomb Beautifully proportioned dog, beautiful from neck down in the shoulder, great feet. I love the short little loin and the nice fat back in the topline and yet with great condition and not an ounce of roll on this dog. I would give him a little bit darker eye, but the pigment is absolutely beautiful and the ears set and the whole expression very, very nice. Nice dog 15 to 18 Month Male- Gowrielea Don’t Need To Be Coy By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN He is a beautiful dog in great shape. I love the way he went around the ring. He is tight hard bodied. He has nice proportions. He is beautiful from neck down to the shoulder. He has a pretty expression, a nice ear set, good bone, good feet and a nice down and back. I was very pleased with him and I love the coat. He has a darker coat nice and tight to his body. Beautiful puppy. Junior Puppy Female – Can Ch Eirene’s Secret Garden

By Am Can Ch Rush Hill’s River Road Payoff x Ch Eirene’s Absotively She is a beautiful bitch in beautiful bloom. Well angulated through the rear, short back, short coupled pretty expression, nice ear set, love the way she set down in the rear. She is presented beautifully. Today I would like to see her a little bit in harder condition but this is the 6-9 class so that is just fine. This is just glamorous. Senior Puppy Female – Verdoro’s Carpe Diem By Am Can Ch Verdoro’s Triple Chill x Am Can Ch Verdoro Countrylane Josephine This was a beautiful class. My first place selection in this class is a very pretty bitch. The head you could just squish it - beautiful depth of cheek, nice stop, good pigment, good expression, and good bite. She has good feet. She was real pretty off of her rear and nice through the front end and tight in the elbows. Blowing some coat, she had this big blonde coat, just a real, real nice girl went around with ease and happy to have her here today. 12 to 15 Month Female – Sweetgold Camelot By Am Can Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x SweetGold’s Field Of Dreams There were two in this class and I loved both of the bitches. They went around this ring, held their toplines, did not roll one ounce and had beautiful down and backs. It was a hard decision but I felt that the winner had a little bit more layback in the shoulder. In great shape, not rolling – the way a golden should be. 15 to 18 Month Female – Can Ch Castlerock Who’s the Boss By Can Am Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Justmoor Something About Mary This bitch demands to be noticed as she goes around the ring. She carries her back; reach drive, beautiful down and backs. She is in full bloom coat. She is beautiful from neck to shoulder. Pretty expression, straight legs great feet. Beautifully presented. Judge’s Critique

July 17, 2009 Ms. Connie Gerstner–Miller from Michigan, USA. Regular Classes - Males

6-9 class males Nice class of puppies. Nice headed puppies. Wonderful coats on most of them. 1. # 29 – Fyreglo’s Double Shot

By Am Can Ch Fyreglo’s Family Circus x JBG’s Bubblicious I chose my first place dog because he had a really level back going around the ring, he used his front really well, and he stood nicely on his own. He had real balance front and rear. 2. # 31 – Anbrus International Teddy Bear By Ch Tashora Beam Me Up x Anbrus High Tea At Manor OA AXJ I picked my second dog; he had the same back going around the ring. He wasn’t as quite settled in his movement to show the reach, I didn’t think his pasterns were as strong as the first dog. 3. # 27 – Kulalani’s Tropical Sensation By Ch Kulalani’s Blue On Blue x Ch Kulalani’s Diamond On Fire The third dog had a lot of power in him. He has good bone, has a wonderful coat, his head is really nice, his back wasn’t quite as nice going around the ring - he didn’t hold it quite as level. He was not as strong in the pasterns as I like to see in a sporting dog. 4. # 26 – Goldtales Follow Your Heart By Ch Tashora Major Majong x Goldtales Not Just For Kids The fourth dog had real nice appeal to him. He had more movement in the back through the loin than I like in a puppy. They can grow out that. His head was beautiful, his coat was really nice. I thought it was a really nice 6-9 class. 9-12 class males The first two dogs were really hard for me. 1. # 32 – Murlo’s Conversation Peace By Am Ch Goodtimes Best Case Scenario SDHF JH CD x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo The first dog didn’t carry himself quite as well as the second dog but he had a shorter underline in his body. His head at this point in his career is a little better; he had a little more rib spring. 2. # 33 – Murlo’s Heart, Mind & Soul By Am Ch Goodtime’s Best Case Scenario CD JH WC VCX x Am Can Ch Legacy’s Cinco De Mayo

The second puppy obviously isn’t as mature; he had a really pretty head, he doesn’t have the rib spring yet, his coat was really nice - I liked it. 3. # 34 – Kulalani’s Blue Hawaiian By Ch Fyreglo’s Tuff Act To Follow x Ch Kulalani’s Kahea Nani 4. # 35 – Creeksidefrm’s Soda Pop By Summit’s Mr Bojangles x Ch Creeksidefrm’s Panache The third and fourth had really good coats, their heads were pleasing. They just need to mature a little more to be competitive with the first two. 12-15 class males A really nice class. They all had beautiful heads - I loved their heads. I liked all of their coats; I thought their coats were really proper. There wasn’t a bad dog in this class. Again it was a hard class to decipher. 1. # 45 – Chantilly’s Bleeker Street By Ch Creeksidefrm Stings Like A Bee x Ch Premiere She’s Da Bomb My first place dog had a little shorter underline; he carried himself well in the back. I thought his head was really properly muzzled. I really liked this dog. 2. # 43 – Auburnmist Whatta Journey By Ch Kyon’s Passionat Sheaster xCh Aubrunmist My Mazda Miata The second place dog head was very pleasing. I thought he was a little longer in the underline and didn’t carry his loin quite as well as he went along. 3. # 46 – Chantilly Boss In Motion By Ch Creeksidefrm Stings Like A Bee x Ch Premiere She’s Da Bomb The third place dog was not quite as mature, he didn’t have the rib spring and the width through him as he comes and goes and he didn’t move with quite as much balance as the other dogs but I think he is a very pleasing dog. 15-18 month males

This was a really nice class. This is a hard age for males. There were a lot of good things in this class - really good balanced movement, beautiful heads. I really liked the heads - I liked the pigment, the ears were great. Just some were different in there maturity of caring themselves. The first two dogs were really close even though they looked very different in style. To me that’s just style, it doesn’t have to do with the golden retriever on your preference. They were every close. 1. # 41 – Gowrielea Don’t Need To Be Coy By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN The first place dog was a little shorter in back, carried his back a little better. That is what I finally went with, the way he carried his back. 2. # 40 – Tasmara Eggcitn Times At Doman By Ch Doman’s Time Is Right x Ch Tasmara Savannah Nite The second place dog was a lovely style dog, beautiful headed dog. He is a little longer in the under loin. He moves pretty well, but he moves his back a little more. 3. # 47 – Muldane’s Dinner And A Movie By Ch Verdoro’s Dances With Wolves x Ch Verdoro’s YYG The third place dog, I loved his head. I loved the shortness of his back; I loved the balance of his outline. He didn’t carry his back quite as well on the go around today. He was a little weaker in the pastern when he came to you, but just a lovely, lovely headed dog. 4. # 39 – Myriosa All Blyss’n Heaven Too By Ch Klaasem’s Zoom Zoom Zoom x Ch Myriosa Watercolour In The Rain TDX Am TD The fourth place dog had a lot of nice rib spring to him, his head was a little longer in the muzzle, he didn’t have quite the power going around the ring and when I talk about power I don’t talk about speed I talk about the way they use his feet. Canadian-Bred Male # 50 – Zaniri’s King Of The Blues AGNJS WC CGN By Ch Donamor Beale Street Blues Boy JH WC CD TD CGN x UH HR Maplebears Red Alert At Zaniri CDX WCX MH Am WCX

A nice young dog. He needs to fill out, but he is a real nice young dog that uses himself well. Maturity is all he needs. Bred By Exhibitor Males This was a really nice, nice class, Different styles but very nice dogs. The first two dogs were very much alike in their movement. They both wanted to stand a little bit with sloping toplines once in a while, but then they both would level out at times. They both had great heads and good quality to their coats. 1. # 51 – SweetGold Safari By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x Am can Ch SweetGold’s Winners Circle I thought the first place dog just out moved in front, with his shoulder just a little bit better. 2. # 52 – Goldtales Mister Big Time By Ch Kalar’s Four Paw Drive x Ch Rocklane’s Relive The Magic The second place dog has a lovely head, wonderful bone. I really liked this dog. He used himself well when he went around the ring. It was very close between the first two dogs. 3. # 55 – Anbrus Manor Sir Thomas Lipton CD AX AXJ By Laburnum’s Black Thorn x Stanroph Surfing USA CD AX AXJ The third place dog wasn’t caring through in the rear quite as much with as much push and drive. He has a lovely head, lovely coat on him, very useable dog. I thought he was very well balanced except for the push in the rear. 4. # 53 – Auburnmist Story Rumor Has It By Lynwook’s Gyrafalcon Belcanto x Ch Kalar’s Sweet Summer Rayne The fourth place dog has a really pretty head, he just wasn’t using himself on the go around as well today. He had nice rib spring, nice bone and was a nice sized dog. He wasn’t using with any drive when he went around the ring today. Open Males

A very, very nice class. It is hard when you get so many dogs that are nice. I pray for this at a lot of dog shows. I made my final decision on the go around on length of body and length of underline and how much there was in prosternum. 1. # 63 – Chuckanut’s Captain Kangaroo By Ch Chuckanut’s Party Favour O Novel x Kingsgold Rythem N Blues 2. # 66 – Allseason’s Karbon Copy By Am Can Ch Bachelor of Rye WC x Ch Shadowflax Allseasons Ford The two dogs are very similar on carriage around the ring - that is what I made my final decision on. I like a shorter underline. I got a little more prosternum. Both dogs have wonderful side gait, both dogs hold a really nice topline and have beautiful heads, faces, eyes and muzzles. 3. # 60 – Creeksidefrm’s Once Upon A Time By Ch Chuckanut’s Party Favour O Novel x Ch Creeksidefrm’s Panache The third place dog could use just a little maturity in the body. He looks a little longer in the loin, but I thought he carried himself really well around the ring. He has a beautiful prosternum and head on him. 4. # 62 – Pacificgold’s Secret Code By Colorbook’s Nothing Like The Sun x Ch Pacificgold’s Caught You Looking This little girl who that has fourth place could show a dog for me any time. She does a lovely job; she is a great little handler. She did everything you asked of her. She has a nice dog that carries himself well. He has nice reach going around - I just didn’t think his topline was quite as good in the loin going around the ring as the other dogs but he is a lovely, lovely dog.

Winners Male:

He is not quite as good in his feet, with his bone and a little longer in the loin but I loved his style. Veteran Males (10+ years) What nice dogs, they certainly don’t show their ten plus years. It was very hard to judge this class as they were very nice, all three of them. 1. # 80 – Can Am Ch Peppercreek’s In The Company O’ Shamans

By Peppercreek Whistler x Forever Golden J.P. Peppercreek Lex The first dog had a little better topline going around the ring; he had a tad better shoulder in the front. 2. # 79 – Can Ch Camalire Romancing The Stone CDX RE By Ch Rush Hill’s Haagen-Dazs WC CD x Ch Tashora I de la I The second place dog was lovely headed, nice boned, carried himself pretty well but not quite as good in the topline going around. 3. # 81 – Can Ch Eggers Victory At Stirling By Ch Auburnmist Sundays Best Terms AGN x Verdoro’s Victory Parade The third place dog didn’t use his legs quite as good going around the ring for extension, but he is a lovely headed dog, I love his head. He had a pretty good topline, he didn’t do much push and it is a hot day so it is hard. GRCC NATIONAL 2009 SPECIALTY REPORT Judge’s Critique JULY 17, 2009 JUDGE: Ms. Gloria Kerr from Arizona, USA Many thanks for having me judge the GRCC National Specialty. What an Honor! I will always remember the friendly atmosphere and outstanding dogs. I had wonderful ring stewards that kept things moving throughout the day. Thank you to everyone! Regular Classes – Females Jr. Puppy Female 1. # 83 – Goldtales You Didn’t Hear It From Me

By Ch Tashora Major Majong x Goldtales Not Just For Kids This bitch appears symmetrical and well balanced with good shoulder layback matching her rear angulation. She carries herself well, has a nice neck and pleasing expression. 2. # 84 - JBG’s Pretty In Pink By JBG’s TJ Hooker x JBG’s Zoey One Oh One She has a dense good quality coat. She could have a bit more shoulder layback and shows promise. 3. # 85 - Eirene’s Morgana Mirage By Am Can Ch Rush Hill’s River Road Payoff x Ch Eirene’s Absotively She has a nice outline standing. Her upright shoulders make her loose her outline when moving and she rolls slightly over her loin area. 4. # 88 - Midas California Dreamin By Crystal Fall’s Fortune Hunter x Midas Sophe’s My Choice She exhibits a correct outline when standing and looses the outline when moving due to quite a bit of rolling over her loin. Senior Puppy Female 1. # 90 - Verdoro’s Carpe Diem By Am Can Ch Verdoro’s Triple Chill x Am Can Ch Verdoro Countrylane Josephine She has a very typey and correct outline with a beautiful transition of neck into nearly ideal shoulders. She has a level topline and kindly expression. She is shedding her coat at this time. 2. # 94 - JBG’s Lipstick On A Pig By Am Can Gr Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny x Ch JBG’s Water Under The Bridge She has correct shoulders and moves well without rolling. She converges well coming and going. Her loin would be better if it was shorter. 3. # 93 – Creeksidefrm’s Candy Land By Summit’s Mr. Bojangles x Ch Creeksidefrm’s Panache

This bitch is nicely balanced, converges coming and going and moves smoothly going around. Her head would be a bit more correct with a better stop.

4. # 92 - Leemark’s Flirt’n With Fate By Am Can Ch Kalar’s Four Paw Drive x Ch Riverdance Leemark Jade She moves nicely going around (when she wants to) as she appears a little stubborn. Her head would be enhanced with more muzzle and a bit more under jaw. She is a little wide coming at me. 12 – 15 Class Females 1. # 95 - Sweetgold Camelot By Am Can Ch Chuckanut Party Favour O Novel x SweetGold’s Field Of Dreams This bitch is full of quality. She has a good layback of shoulder, wonderful balance front to rear, short hocks, a pretty expression, and wonderful dark eyes. 2. # 104 - Playtime’s Butterfly Kisses By Am Can Ch Sunjoie ‘N Woodland Anyway U Slice It x Pacificgold’s Just A Flirt She carries herself well, has nice short hocks, a good expression and a nice quality coat. She needs a little more coat and her stop is somewhat lacking. 4. #9 8 - Majecgold’s Chic-K Flick By Am Can Ch Pacificgold’s Bavarian Cobbler x Majecgold’s Shabby Chic She has a beautiful color and nice quality coat. With her shoulders being upright it makes her lacking in balance. 15 -18 month Females

1. # 101 - Gowrielea’s Highland Games By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN She has impressive balance, and excellent overall qualities. Being in hard working condition gives her a decided advantage in her smooth movement with a nearly perfect side gait. 2. # 96 - Creeksidefrm Shaken Not Stirred By Am Cn CH Creeksidefrm’s Country Squire SDHF OS x CH Creeksidefrm’s Trick Or Treat She has lovely dark eyes, correct coat texture, and is well balanced. She needs more length of rib and less length of loin. 4. # 99 - Jasmine Of Shalfleet By Ch Coppermoon One Of Us x Winterknoll Golden Lady She moves very well and holds her topline level while moving with nice balance. She has desirable dark pigment and is lacking in coat at this time. She has a good quality coat and nice expression. Her shoulders are somewhat upright and she acted like she didn’t want to be in the ring on that day. Bred By Exhibitor Females In this class intelligent reasons can be given for placing either of the first two bitches first in this class. They both were very good quality. 1. # 116 - Corum I’ll Tell You What U Want By Ch Tashora Major Majong x Ch Corum’s Cherry On Top She is a very typey bitch, with harmonious blending of body parts. Her coat is somewhat soft and open, her head is a little masculine and she could have converged more coming at me. OPEN FEMALE

This is another class where either of the first two bitches could be the winner. I would take either of these bitches home. 1. # 121 - Goldtales Spirit Of Life By Colorbrook’s Nothing Like The Sun x Goldtales Twist ‘N Shout Wonderful Golden type with nice dark pigment, beautiful expression, and carries a wonderful topline both moving and standing. She was a bit lacking in coat, and had slightly straighter front and rear but was balanced. 4. # 130 - Rush Hill’s Go With The Flow By Am Can Ch Summit’s Dakota Life’s A Dance SDHF OS x Am Ch Carrera’s I Scream Special This bitch was in wonderful coat, was correctly put together lending to balance, but carried a little too much flesh throughout. WINNERS FEMALE # 101 - Gowrielea’s Highland Games By Am Can Ch JBG’s A Date With Destiny CGN x Ch Gowrielea Chickachickaboomboom AGN RESERVE WINNERS FEMALE #121 - Goldtales Spirit Of Life By Colorbrook’s Nothing Like The Sun x Goldtales Twist ‘N Shout

These were absolutely wonderful bitches, both well balanced and moving smoothly around the ring. My winner was well put together, symmetrical, powerful and active and was absolutely perfect on this day. She had a bit more angles front and rear. The reserve female was in great competition for the win. Both bitches had beautiful neck into shoulders, lovely heads and expression. Vet. Female 7 – 10 years 1. # 134 - Spldaishi’s Hurry Up n’ Wait TDX/WC/JH/UTD By Can Cam Ch Justmoor Believe In Me x Camalire Iced Mocha This bitch was impressively sound with front and rear converging, with long ribcage and good muscular loin. I was impressed with all these veteran girls. 1. # 145 - Can Am Ch Goodtime’s Accidental Tourist

By Rushhill’s Gootimes Never End xAm Ch Laurell Goodtime Pink Champagne This bitch was balanced and smooth with an extremely impressive topline while moving and standing. She had lovely balance with wonderful extension front and rear. She had well let down hocks, a short muscular loin, and long well sprung ribs. Her hard working condition lent itself well to her being impressively smooth going around at a moderate speed on a loose lead. She caught my eye when she first entered the ring, and continued exhibiting true Golden Retriever type, full of quality, throughout her time in the ring.

BOS/ Best Canadian Bred # 183 Can Am Ch Verdoro Tellise Arrowsmith By Am Can CH Verdoro Tanglewood Ice Pilot x Ch Verdoro’s Pace Arrow This dog exhibited plenty of substance combined with refinement. What impressed me first about this dog was his correct breed characteristics, along with his typey head and expression, level planes and dark brown eyes. He had ideal shoulders, blending smoothly into a level back which he carried with style going around. He had a short muscular loin and a rib cage extending well to the rear of his body. He was not my pick when he walked into the ring, but the longer he was there, the more confident and bold he became giving the BOB bitch excellent competition. WD/BW # 63 Chuckanut’s Captain Kangaroo By Am Can CH Chuckanut’s Party Favour O’Novel x Kingsgold Rhythm and Blues The first thing I noticed about this dog was his correct head shape, and beautiful dark pigment. His well conditioned body exhibited wonderful type including nice bone, short loin, good rib spring, long rib cage, and short hocks. He had a good tail set and carriage. His length of leg was correct as was the depth of his body. He showed good Golden temperament, but I would darken his eyes. JAM # 159 Can CH Tashora Major Majong By Ch Lorinford Harlequin x Ch Tahora Ranchosierra Moonstruck This dog was nicely balanced front to rear with correct shoulder layback. His attitude and temperament were typically Golden. His coat was slightly wavy and obviously water repellant. He had no bounce to his topline while moving and his outline stayed the same while moving or stacked. He seemed a little tired in the final go around. JAM # 199 Can Ch Creeksidefrm’s Spoiled Rotten By Am Can CH Chuckanut’s Party Favour O’ Novelx Can CH Creeksidefrm’s Panache

Field Dog # 208 Can Ch MOTCH Hot Rod on A Golden Kiss MH/TDX/WCX/DD/MVC/Am CD/WCX He had more overall style, balance and symmetry than I might have expected from a field dog. He had an excellent water repellant coat, (of course he is a field dog). He was in great shape for his age (10) and good correct Golden type, not always seen in the field. He was the winner of the prestigious Nan Gordon Trophy. Sorry, I had no more information on any other dogs.
