R eal estate giant Ray White is tapping into a diff erent industry this year and is encouraging

communities across the country to join them.

The farming industry in country Australia has been struggling for years as a result of relentless drought, which is making it tough for farmers to feed their livestock.

But help is on the way, as Ray White launched its ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign recently and plans to carry it out throughout 2015.

The campaign encourages people to purchase hay to be given to struggling farmers or make cash donations to support them in other areas.

The Design Wallpaper Painta-bles can be easily fi xed on the wall and eff ortlessly removed.

“The Dulux Design Wallpaper Paintables range is incredibly easy to work with in regards to fi xing on the wall and painting because the paper is so much thicker than standard thin wallpaper,” Ms Lucena-Orr said.

She added that in addition to being functional, the new range has great aesthetic benefi ts as well.

“Paintable wallpaper adds texture to your walls that paint alone can’t achieve. Textured wallpaper takes your paint to the next level, allowing you to create a luxurious bespoke look,” Ms Lucena-Orr said.

The strongest demand in four years has helped reduce vacancy rates across the Sydney CBD offi ce market, according to the Property Council of Australia’s latest Offi ce Market Report. The

vacancy rate fell from 8.4 per cent to 7.4 per cent in the six months to January 2015. “Sydney’s offi ce market now has the lowest vacancy rate and enjoyed the strongest demand of all capital cities,” NSW Executive Director Glenn Byres said. “Sydney’s CBD saw positive demand at the top end of the market, and declining vacancy rates across all grades.”

Sydney real estate’s bull market run is expected to continue, with the iconic Rose Bay home, Energlyn, predicted to set the pace for prestige property sales in the Eastern Suburbs in 2015. According to listing agents Mark Yeats and Max Spartalis from Raine & Horne Double Bay, it’s anticipated that the magnifi -cent blue-chip private oasis at 8 Churchill Road Rose Bay will fetch between $8 and $10 million when it goes under the hammer on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Mr Yeats and Mr Spartalis believe the 2014 sales results achieved by Eastern Suburbs real estate will be replicated in 2015.

It is time for the State Government to take action against outdated stamp duty rates created by bracket creep, according to the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales.

REINSW President Malcolm Gunning said the level of taxation on homes in NSW is being unjustly affected by the failure to recognise increasing prices and archaic stamp duty rates.

“Bracket creep is a major issue in NSW. Due to increases in property prices home ownership is being taxed at levels higher than they were ever intended to be,” Mr Gunning said.

Homeowners were hit by an average stamp duty amount of $33,490 in December 2014. There were 20,185 homes sold with $675,998,863 collected in stamp duty.

This compares to 19,665 residential properties purchased in December 2013 with $604,166,430 collected at an average of $30,723 per property sold.

S ummer is almost over, which means Autumn is just around the corner. With a change of season

comes a new look for interiors, and paint company Dulux are forecasting a return to a bold 1980s-esque design style.

The trend for the season will be playful, with a focus on vibrant, bold colours, such as orange, green and blue, geometric shapes and graphic black and white patterns. According to Dulux colour and trends expert Andrea Lucena-Orr this look is infl uenced by Pop Art and the Memphis design movement.

“Autumn style will take its cues from design movements where form did not necessarily follow function. It allows us to reconnect with a time when there were fewer

to other elements in the room,” she said.

Another option is to choose a wall with an interesting structural element, like a window ledge, and use these bold colours to highlight the individual features of the space. Once complete you can add a bright or dark charcoal carpet to really make the look pop.

So why not get a little adventur-ous with your home this Autumn.

“It is time to have fun with colour and make some bold choices,” Ms Lucena-Orr said.
